Great stuff that the young ones get used to you :) Give them a bit of time, you just got them :)
Putting Cotton in their cage all by herself sounds like a good idea to me.

also doesn't help that it's not compulsory to vote.
alas Australians voted in ours and while there are some who didn't vote, we still voted in our idiot scumbag of a pm, who has gone on vacation to Hawaii..while we deal with fire threats from bushfires.

@Julez: They walked all over me yesterday :D I had to entice them but still, it counts xD One of them is so meek she just wants to sit in one place and be petted. The other one is a troublemaker.
I did put Cotton in their cage and she wasn't panicking (even stole some food, lol) but she wanted to leave after a short while, though it was still longer than when she's with them there.
But then she was kind of agressive towards the bolder little one... Not too much but when they're in cage and Cotton's running, she waits for them to come closer and obviously wants to bite on them. A big no-no. So I googled joining rats (don't ask why I haven't done that earlier, I have no clue and I'm
ashamed
) and I realized we did some things out of order and probably messed some stuff up, but I hope it's still fixable

For a few days I'll just slowly start mixing their scents by mxing their litter (I hope that's the correct word for it lol) and getting Cotton in the youngesters' cage while they're gone and putting them in hers while she's gone. We'll see how that works out. Pray for me
I can tame new rats just fine, but joining stranger rats is not my forte...
@River: Omg, what's going on in the world? People are out of their minds or something? They choose all the stupid people to be their leaders

There's some major global fuck up going on...
I personally think people should be penalised with a fine for not voting and that fine should increase for every election you don't vote in. Unfortunately I'm afraid this would not help with the fact that the majority is stupid and easy to manipulate etc...
Geez, I'm so bitter XD

mem,
that sounds good! And great that you found out how to go on with them :) Sounds really good! I am convinced it's all fixable :)
River,
well, that's indeed not nice that people voted for such a person :(
I don't know about making voting compulsory... I don't think this will ameliorate the situation. I think some people might just vote for somebody because they have to and will go with whatever person seems to be nice at the first glance without really reading up on that person or party. And as mem said, people are still manipulative and easy to be manipulated sooo I actually doubt that would fix things.

I really hope so. Even if Cotton is kind of agressive towards them, at least she began walking more around the room when I let her out. So I see this as a positive, she's not sitting inside the bed in one spot, all depressed and stuff :D
But if the voting would be compulsory then at least the majority of the people would actually be responsible. In Poland the percentage of people who voted in the lastest elections was merely 61% and it was a phenomenon, usually it doesn't go over 50%. Which is totally stupid because if less than 50% of the population decides who gets to be on top, then it's not really democracy, because the majority didn't vote... In Poland the problem is people tend to only choose between two parties, while we have many more, but they have less support, so hardly anyone considers them. It's always "the lesser of two evils" kind of decision and it depends on who's side you agree more with... so yes, I still think it should be compulsory, because the majority should be decisive. I think many poeple who don't vote just want to have an exucse of "I didn't vote for him, so I can complain all I want". Sure, you didn't vote at all but yo ustill live in the same reality. Your choice was to not make a choice, this doesn't give you the right to complain, because you had no expectations and therefore you should shut the eff up just like you did during the elections.

It's the same here regarding just two parties. Unfortunately there was a lot of stuff spreading in the media about the leader of the opposition party this time around, none of which was true. And even though Boris is an outspoken racist, misogynist, homophobe, and so on, people apparently like that he is 'honest'.
He's not bloody honest at all. He puts his foot in his mouth sometimes and all the rest of the time he lies. But like you say, people are stupid.
I spend a lot of time in London of course, and in a creative arts industry, and everyone I know is just baffled. London was more or less the only place in the country not to vote Tory. I am just getting more and more convinced about that being the place where I belong. I don't feel like I have anything in common with the shitheads around here, who voted 62!!!!!! percent for the idiot Tory who has been ruining our local government for the past three or probably more terms. Under his local guidance we haven't had recycling bins for nearly 6 months. None available in the area at all, the public ones were taken away, and local recycling plants have limited what they will accept. Just one example of things of course, but we're doing GREAT at saving the environment over here right /sarcasm
Also I only just realised my last post was yellow, I must have been really distracted haha
Mem, I hope they settle in together better now you read up on things. Every animal is different of course. They might do things their own way, at their own speed.

Oh there are fines if they don't vote. I don't know much more than that about if people don't vote because I always vote.
We have the 2 party thing here too. It's a shame cause it means like the greens and other parties never will get leadership.
Buut they do help with the senate..
We have no climate change plan. Our PM is putting his head in the sand every time it comes up. IF he could he would plug his ears and go lalalala when asked about it but he can't.

Global political fuck ups everywhere...

Oh well, can't do anything about it now.
@River: I wish we had fines here for not voting. People would be like "better vote because I'm such a Scrooge I won't be paying that"
@jacob: (rats) Yeah, I read somewhere that the longest joining someone has ever done with breaks lasted 10 months, so I'm sitting here like, they've been with us for not even a week and I unnecessarily (and unknowingly) sped things up because I thought some steps of joining were separate methods and ... yeah, I'm not worried anymore, I'll just slow things down for them

It's not much of a deterrent really. Tbh maybe the fines should be higher initially.

Politics is just so tiresome.. I completely agree with you jacob on Boris... Stupid man. Stupid people who vote for him. How can they even ?!
