Jikes mem, that's very christiany. I mean I'm kinda christian and all I do with Christmas is watch the Urbi et Orbi, and loads of Christmas movies with my mom.
My family makes me anxious as well, so lucky me mom's okay with me staying home for the visit to my sister. :}

I guess it was drama free for me too, besides me almost making the drama myself, over kitchen towels XD But I made and drank some melissa and calmed down. Then my mom screamed at her bf at the dinner and it was totally unnecessary but at least he didn't seem to care much, just went for a smoke. Oh, and Ash's kinda step brother went full drama because he doesn't talk to his father (Ash's step dad) and had to be a brat about it and made his little step-sister cry with that behaviour. Although she did walk out to not let anyone see she's crying,so I'm pretty sure he's oblivious to what he has caused.
Oh, Ash gave me gorgeous earrings and I was like: dang, I really do suck at this gifting thing. I gave him 3 books and socks while he gave me those earrings and perfume and some thights I asked for...
I need to start thinking about his bday (in June) gift because it's outrageous how bad I am with presents

I am glad you are happy about what you've got!
I can totally relate to that! My brother has been great with giving gifts on my last birthday and last Christmas, I felt really bad about being okay-ish (I guess), but this Christmas he also did not really hit the bullseye so I am okay again xD

J always gets me better presents than I get him. Well, usually. He is pretty bad at picking out jewellery. This year he got me a bracelet which I was like D: I probably won't wear it at all. I kind of like it then because I don't feel bad about what I got him XD Basically he usually spends twice as much as I do even when I spend loads. Last birthday I bought him a huge gift, some really expensive cufflinks for him to wear at our wedding, and I thought I 'won' that round. Come to our anniversary, which we said we wouldn't do gifts, and he'd got me 2300243248098 things rofl.

It's the worst when you actually arrange not to get anything and then 'surprise - I got you something' - feels totally bad for the person who got nothing

That's what my dad did this Christmas... No, don't get any presents, we won't be preparing anything for you guys so don't worry about it... Then we get something like sweets and stuff. I mean, it's nothing big but still... I felt stupid...
I think we're at a milestone with the rats. Last night we let them meet in the tub, then in their transportation cage, then we let Cotton loose while the little ones were messing around inside the blanket tent I made around me and we let Cotton inside the tent a few times. There was no aggression, some typical rat fights but also some licing. So today we bathed them all again, cleaned the new cage and we let them all in. So far so good. Although Cotton just got VERY defensive over a nut

The quiz is tomorrow night :D I spent ages yesterday and today working on the first round, which is notable deaths from the last decade (sorted by five per year). There are three clues on each, a hard one, medium one, and easy one. they will get more points based on which clue they can answer. After that we bought a quiz book which we will do some of the quizzes from. We already tried a few of them and they're pretty good. There are 500 quizzes so we won't run out any time soon XD Also there's a TV show over here called Big Fat Quiz of the Year which is mostly comedy with a few questions thrown in haha, we will watch that also.
All in all we will be quizzed out by the end of it XD

The ratties survived the whole night and day without bloodshed. They even cuddled. I think it's safe to say we've managed to assimilate them. Perfect timing, too.

Nevertheless, sounds insane! You seem to be well prepared for the night xD
Congrats on the rats, mem!
I've been to the gym yesterday and Sunday so that I can at least eat and drink in peace today, I won't feel extremely sad about it, knowing I exercised xD
