How long are the lost items usually available for? Is it 24hours? Or during certain time periods?

I'm assuming at least 24 hours, if not 48

I think they are available for 48h as well.

If I remember properly it was written 48 hours in the original annoucement.

And I've also noticed the items seem to appear every 10 days or so.

Oh by checking the release dates that seems to be true, they appear very frequently. Might be a good motive to try and log often.

the skull hairclip is soo cute! although, it might be a while before I could gather other avatar items that would go well with the skull clip
