I used to get groceries delivered all the time when I was in uni, and in our first place that we moved into together too. If you don't have a car and the grocery store is more than easy walking distance away then you don't have a lot of choice. I would have had to have paid for a cab to bring me back from the store, and the online delivery was free, so why not get it delivered? Plus if you don't like something they brought you, like the vegetables don't seem fresh enough, you can just reject it and send it back.
There's no way I could walk back even from our local shops here with a full two-person shop for two weeks, so we always just do small shops here and end up going two or three times a week. It's super annoying and a waste of time so TBH I think about getting it delivered again sometimes, especially when J is working late shifts and wouldn't be getting to the store in the first place until 8pm.

I loooove lore and mythology. There's a podcast called Lore that I listen to obsessively. It talks a lot about how there are similarities about different myths around the world and where they might have come from. Although occasionally he will present something supernatural as if it's real, which kind of annoys me. There was an episode I recently listened to where he was talking about sea serpents and didn't mention that they were basically whale penises getting mistaken for giant snakes, so I was mad about that. I like it better when we get the full explanation.

Food delivery is something really new here, I know nobody who does it, but some shops offer it. It still feels weird to me. Wherever I lived, shops were in walking distance, so I never needed a car. Unless you live in a village with 100 inhabitants there are always grocery shops near you.
Can't you probably grab a few things here and there after work? Or J?

That podcast sounds very interesting, I love stuff like that, too!

@Julez that's exactly what we do, grab what we can carry when we're able to. But it means J is always home later and later because he has to do these shops, and we still can't get everything we need in one go. If we want to buy some bottles of fizzy drinks, for example, you really can't buy much more than 4 bottles because that makes the bags so heavy there's no point in getting anything else. If it was me I would probably only be able to carry one bottle :mcheh: So what happens is we're constantly in need of some more shopping, constantly running out of things but not getting a chance to get them, and constantly having to schedule our lives around the 2-3 trips we need to make each week.
I don't think it's really that common to be always near grocery shops either. If we moved to the next town over, which we considered, we would have to be near the train station. That's at the opposite end of town from all the useful shops. The nearest supermarket is not only out of walking distance, but is also located in the middle of a really busy traffic area with a lot of junctions and roundabouts, so walking is really not advisable there. And that's not a small village, it's a bigger town than this one, about double the size.
It was the same when I was at uni. There was one huge supermarket in town but because of the size they had to build it away from all the residential areas on the nearest available plot of land. It was so far from uni, and all of the available student housing around, that it would take 45 mins or more to walk there.

That's sure annoying, I see why you want or used to get food delivered.
I guess it's different in England then. Next to Germany, I just lived in Ireland, Dublin for a while, but there were stores everywhere :mcheh:

Mermaids - I'm not so sure. I've heard people say they were mistaking big fish for mermaids and stuff like that. Could be a fear of the water, I guess. I know there's a lot of creatures in folklore that like drowning people 8u

My mom has reddish hair, but she dyes it because she doesn't like her grays.
My hair used to be reddish, but I swear I dyed it black once and it's been dark ever since ._.
My hair has different colors.
Some of it's red, some of it's blonde, but most of it is dark brown. And I have a few grays >Bu
I have green eyes that are brown around the pupil.
My parents both have the same type of eyes.
My grandpa had gray eyes and my sister must have got his eyes xD

One thing I don't know a lot about is Greek Mythology.
I know a little, but not a lot xD

When I was a kid, I'd take horror books out from the library and a few of them had stories from all around the world.
One in particular was centered around Africa and traveled all the way to Louisiana.
I thought it was cool because it was just stories for and about black people.
Where's the books for Mexicans and Native Americans \>8u/
I only know a handful of those folklores and would love a whole book \u8</
Most of the stuff I've read has been from US and Europe.
Places like Ireland and Scotland have A LOT of folklore and myths 8u
I love learning about Japan too. I have a couple books with information on them about legends and stuff.
There also seems to be a lot of creepy stuff in The Philippines xD
I had two teachers who came from there and I wish I had asked them about legends and ghosts and stuff 8u
The husband probably would have told me. He was playful like that. He would also probably tell me bullshit just to fuck with me >Bu

I have two friends from the Philippines which I see almost daily xD So if there is anything specific you want to know, I can ask them :)

Ireland has so many myths and folk tales, that's true :)

LittleJulez: Uh, I'd just ask about ghost stories and legends from there. Nothing really specific 8u

memoriam: Again, nothing really specific - just the Gods and what they did. I know a few of them but that's it xD

My dad got the duplex he was interested in. We have to help him move in and clean tomorrow.
It's an okay place, but I was put off by the dirtiness of it.
Especially all the dead bugs lying around.
My dad's not scared of bugs like I am, though xD

In Poland we are forced to really dive into Greek mythology so I still remember a lot. If I was to tell you anything maybe it would be easier to know what you know. I suppose you know what most of the Olympic gods did etc.?

Well, that's great he got something at all! Dead bugs can be cleaned out though :D
