No, if you want to sell it to someone else, please do not submit it to the contest.
For me it is more about the "if a design does not win"-part. Can I use the submitted character as my own character in that case or will it be "lost"?
Because I came up with something and I really like the outcome, so I would really hate to lose it if it will not be chosen or win a prize....
(lose as in "will not be used for kofk AND may not be used by me)
It doesn't matter whether it wins or not, "by submitting your design, you give KOfK full right to use it." I thought the rules was pretty clear. If you do not agree with this, please do not enter. 
(I am sorry, I am not trying to be an ass here, but I have made bad experience with this when I held an art contest on another site once, where I was collecting art for KOfK, and then an artist made a huge fuss about me using her art on this site, even though the rules had clearly stated that this was what the contest was for.)

Don't worry, Firn. I know that you are not trying to be an ass and I understand you. It is not as if I do not want to give you the rights to use my art/the character.
To me it is more about the "later", the "what if". I put my soul into creating that character.
God, maybe I am just overthinking. You said "no" to selling it... Are we allowed to use it ourselves? Not in a commercial way or for a comic or something. Just drawing and as character. I mean, if it does not become an official NPC. If it will become an NPC, I can still do fanart. Sorry if I am being confusing :'(

Ok, did I get this right? (:
The creator has given the rights to the design to KofK, and thus cannot give/sell them to anyone else. However, KofK gives the creator the right to use their design as an OC. Anyone else can draw the character however they want; their art would be considered fanart.

Everyone can draw it, yes, you just cannot sell it, thus giving the rights to the image to someone else, because it would mean you gave the rights to two different people.

You can't give away the design, it comes down to the same thing: Two people having rights on the same design. Does not work.
The rules on the first page are pretty clear: "By submitting your design, you give KOfK full right to use it."
I think this topic has been tossed and turned around enough already. You submit art to this contest, we have rights to decide what happens with it. Again, I am not trying to be an ass, I just had trouble with this in the past.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not enter this contest.

Sorry, I was checking to make sure since you had only mentioned selling in your posts. ^^
Honestly, it wasn't very clear to me, but my problem came not from the wording but from not understanding what rights those are in the first place. ^^; I've never had any problems understanding the usage rights for the other contests where you do art of an existing NPC. But for this I had to read up on what a lot of people had to say about selling character designs on dA and such before I made my "is this right" post. @_@
No, I don't think you are, and I hope I didn't come off as too persistent or annoying either. :)
