That's a lot better than my art teachers. They thought they were true artists and felt the need to put everybody down. :}

Yuck. I hate teachers who think they are the best and cannot EVER be wrong. Why are you teachers then? You're only teaching us what jerks you are.

I've told them that on several occasions. Never did figure out when to keep my mouth. :}

Lol. I usually don't talk to them. Only when I really need to ask a question do I talk to them. Usually ask other people in my class.

I have several locally known artist in my family, so I kept being singled out by them. :}

That sucks. They try to compare you to your family?

The only time I ever decided to show my work I had listed them under an alias. But the organization found out my real last name as I had them listed for the official papers. They put those on the cards. :{
Every one that saw my name and recognized it made snide comments about me 'using' it to get an 'in'.

Yuck. What jerks. I hate that. People think that you're riding someone else's coat tails (is that the term they use?) and really, it's your own talent and it shouldn't be related to your family at all. =|

My family is rather successful with a family business and all. So everyone at my high school when I was there thought I was a spoiled brat. I bought 99% of everything I wanted with my own money that I earned. I have been buying all of my stuff I wanted since I was 12/13. Given that I might be a little spoiled when it comes to Christmas presents, but whoever wants the most expensive thing usually sets the price limit. But I know there are plenty of people in my class that did nothing and were super spoiled using their mommy and daddy's money.

And it's indeed called riding ones coattails. I love my name but I will never use it professionally. To much weight and I want to earn my way myself. :D

XD I think it's better to go with an alias, tbh. Well, I don't like my name at all, so if I ever get out there for some reason (nothing bad), I would like to use an alias.
