Being on stage is really scary. Especially when you're by yourself.

It's only scary to people who aren't cut out for it XD, half the world is amazing on stage, the other half, not so much. I love performing, truly, but my health issues got worse as I got older which made me self-conscious of my appearance at all times.

I don't know about that. There are a lot of people who are really good performers that get nervous on stage. At least at first.

Well maybe it's just a trained thing. Mind over matter with practice *shrugs*

Depends on how you look at the audience and public speaking, maybe--I sort of see acting as not being scary because I'm not "me", I'm a character. Speaking in small groups or individually is scary to me because I'm "me" in those situations, and "me" is not nearly as interesting and cool as me being someone else.

Yeah, training helps a lot.
I can feel that. It's easier to pretend to be someone else than to be yourself.
I'm pretty good at public speaking now. Though on the inside I'm freaking out. lol

That's actually an advice my sister gave me for holding talks and the like - pretend you're acting the role of confident and knowledgeable presenter and not presenting as yourself. Makes it less scary :)

The tips all used don't help me :|
Anxiety and introversion make things like that a very big no-no
At least with band and dance concerts I'm part of a group so i don't get all the attention

I was planning to get a degree in Theater once.
Stopped playing when I developed a very serious case of stage fright. That just makes me want to run and cry. :}

I hate doing public speaking (Yet I am going to be a teacher lol!) (Primary school teacher though!!)
I hate doing presentations which I will be graded on, there is just so much pressure
