Well, here, our characters would wake up in a tribal setting looking just like the other tribesmen. They might even look different in there. ;o Heck, they could be of a different gender! 8D
Anyway, the catch is, while their in their old pre-reincarnation bodies, they have their current minds. So they 1) have no idea what the hell are they doing here and 2) have no idea what the heck are these weird tattooed dudes want from them because they CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEM. x3

Mm but I wanted something in like.. A controlled environment, like a single house, warehouse, apartment building, hotel, etc. and a narration of what they see when they wake up, like,

"You wake up and look around, you see ____ to your left, ___, and blah blah blah. You see a ____, and you blah blah blah" and they either can have a set of choices for "guidelines", like "search ____", "look for ____", etc. or just make something up. :3

I dunno~ I keep thinking of one of those super old text-based RPGs. xD


EDIT;; I like that! Have you ever read.. Aww, crap. I only read a few, but it was a manga about an after school thing, and when these people fell asleep, they went into this alternate world where they turned into something that was deep down in their true personality. You could be ANYTHING. One person for example was a super conceited "I'm higher than you all" jerk but secretly was insecure about himself. In the other world, he was a paper giraffe. Except, that's the most extreme. Usually they were just people. xD

And they had a goal for each night they did it. Each person had a necklace with 3 beads, and when they experienced some form of drastic emotion one broke, and they had to get this key to unlock this door, blah blah. It was really cool.

I tried to make an RP of it once on Gaia, but nobody joined, haha~

Never finished 'cause, well, I knew like everything about the plot already. xD;;;
So I just ended up checking out the ending. xD Lol.

By controlled environment, do you mean when they wake up, sleep or both?

Like, they could all 'accidentally' be on vacation in the same spot.
Or somehow they ended up working for the same company. :3
It wouldn't be hard, after all destiny is all-powerful and such. :P xDDD

Oh really? I only read the first few. I actually really liked it. xD I got to the part where there's the guy who in the other world was a talking cellphone or something? I got just before he becomes that, I think. When he can't talk to the girl face to face.. I think it was only like, the 4th volume.

I could be horribly wrong, this waaasss.. Many, MANY years ago. xD

Mmkay, SO. Yesss, exactly that! Like maybe they all went on vacation to the same place, and there's no way they can go home and have to stay in the same place and try to escape. D:

Like.. Have you ever seen Saw II? I'm watching the third one right now just on coincidence. xD Someone's watching it behind me. But how there's all those people in the same house? I wanted to make an RP like that~

Nope, never seen it and I don't intend to.
Slashes are not my preferred movie choice. xD;
I don't really like horrors much in general, I can only watch them clinging to someone else. n__n;

Hmn...
I was thinking more along the lines of them coming together of their own accord, realizing that they have something in common.
And they'd have to do it, because the nightmares are just intruding too much on their lives; like for example they were all actually sent there on forced vacation because it was affecting the quality of their work.
Some might have been sent there by a concerned family member, too. xD
And the place they get sent to - it could tie into their past significantly in some way. o:
