Thousand Winters

Little Lucy was very sick. She lay on her bed, not even having enough energy to lift her finger out to touch her mother's face. "I want to live to see just one more winter," she told her mother between coughs.
Tears poured down her mother's cheeks. "You'll live to see 1000 winters," her mother sobbed.
Lucy died the next day.
Legend says that on the first day of every winter, you can still see the girl playing the snow out in the distance.
