True... but if you don't use it, it might heal wrong, too. So just be careful but don't completely stay off of it.
Too late. I had a really, really bad sprain a few years ago while on a school trip to the zoo, on the opposite end from the exit. Had to walk all the way back, and then out to the opposite end of the parking lot. Couldn't take any time off to let it rest, and ACE bandages don't work for me (they get too tight within minutes of me putting it on), and I can't exactly carry a bag of ice into a room full of computers and books. I wasn't able to get to a doctor for almost a week, and despite the fact that I KNOW it was a bad sprain and that something was torn, they insisted that nothing was wrong.
So me rolling my ankle occasionally is an end result. I can't run, have trouble walking, and my ankle gives out under me at least once or twice a week, usually resulting in it getting rolled.
