Kingdom of Knuffel

He works tonight, then after his 3 jobs tonight he will be on his way home. If he isn't already here when I wake up then he will be shortly after the kids and I wake up for the day. I can't wait, tonight is his last night away. Phew. Lol

Did you ever get so excited about something, and tell everyone to expect it a certain day, and then you go to get it ready, only to have it fall apart? Suuucks....

Basically, told my coworkers I would be bringing a cake tomorrow. Cake fell all to pieces, and there were other problems with it. Still taking it as 4 big pieces, but no idea if it'll be any good... *cries* Freaking evil!!

How is everyone else?

Ooh, man. That's why you gotta surprise them with cake! That way, if something happens to the cake, they won't know any better!

I keep planning a tea party and have everybody cancel. At least no one else is disappointed but me.

Apparently, it still tastes delicious, and they pointed out that it's likely because it was 85 degrees in the house, and was raining, so really humid, too...

Oh!! I've never been to a tea party... sounds awesome! Got little sandwiches or cakes or cookies??

I'm so glad that it was still good. I'm not sure if that's cold or hot since it looks like Fahrenheit, but even fallen cakes are good if they taste good.

I wanted to not cook too much (I have late shift the day before) so I'm going to make it a pot-luck sort of thing. I have work the day of, too, so I figure I'd have people bring appetizers. Originally, the day everyone cancelled on, I was going to ask them to bring dessert, but it's closer to dinner time so I guess actual food would be better. If I find time, I might bake and make egg salad sandwiches the day before.

I was supposed to go to a tea party with this group I'm a member of. But the person hosting it decided she didn't want to have the tea party and canceled it the day of an hour before. Someone in the group saw it was decided to have their own tea party at the same time, different location, for those of us who were wanting to go...and then forgot to let anyone know. Event was posted in the group notices AFTER that one had ended.

The closest I've been to since then was the end-of-semester party my health class had a few weeks ago. Tea and brownies (and a bunch of dips that couldn't be enjoyed because the person who was supposed to bring the chips decided to flake on us last minute and never told anyone so that someone could go get chips).
