An HOUR before the event? That's awful. I hate flakers. In my last year of highschool, I was picked to sing a duet with my best friend. Another friend of mine offered to play guitar and find us a drummer. And then when I brought the music over, she said that she wasn't going to do it after all. I thought, whatever. Fine. At least she told us early on. And then a few hours before the concert, she decided that she did want to play the guitar for us, after all. So, okay. Fine. I should be thankful that we have a guitarist at all. So I wanted us to rehearse together before actually performing and she not only refused, but she tied up all the other performers for our duet number including my best friend who was supposed to sing with me to help her out with another project that didn't ever get finished before we graduated. When I complained that we weren't going to get to rehearse together before the show, she had the audacity to blame ME for not getting her the music soon enough. Uh, excuse me? You didn't want to play the guitar until a couple of hours ago! My partner is not you! Why do I have to show you the music when I didn't even realize that you were going to perform with us until a few hours ago? When YOU didn't even realize that you were going to perform with us until a few hours ago?!? God, I hate flakers.

I've never been to a tea party, either, little girl or otherwise. The closest thing to a tea party I've ever been to are getting to sit in when my parents have tea and fruit with their guests after dinner or something.

Yeah, and the only reason we could get (which wasn't even from her but someone else) was that it was probably because it was raining for a bit earlier...in a completely different part of the state...

And geez, that sucks. By the time she decided she was going to play after all, I wouldn't have bothered. You said it was only a few hours before you had to play? That's no where near enough time to practice and get good at a song. And then she pulled your partner away from you to prevent them from at least warming up before you two performed? That doesn't sound like a very nice friend.

Eh, I have my own little tea party like that at least 3 times a week. One of the shelves in the pantry is just covered in various teas, both bagged and loose leaf, and I keep getting scolded for getting more. I'm sorry that I like to have variety...I can't imagine even fanatics wanting to drink the same tea every day...

yikes... If I promise to do something, I'll do it. If I think I won't, then I'll tell them right when asked. If something comes up, I tell them as soon as I know.. Not right, otherwise!

Anyway, Still wish for a tea party sometime.....

Oh, it's not that bad, depending on where you're at. It's really dry where I am, so it doesn't really feel like we're averaging about 100-105F (~37-40C).

Rzx, that's a bizarre reason for cancelling. Maybe the reason was blown out of proportion. You know what they say about rumours.

And exactly. I mean, I didn't worry too much since no one really expects much from the Christmas concert (it's the year end concert that was huge since everyone have had chance to work with everyone else and had a year's worth of time to practice to get good at the songs being performed) and the song was simple enough to get (it was Silent Night. Easy-peasy), but I still would have liked to at least check our levels, damn it!
Oh, yeah. I have tea often, too. But it's more "I'm drinking tea now because I want something to drink and I like tea" than "I'm having a tea party of one" thing, you know? I think tea parties should be more special than what I do alone. But then again, what do I know? I've never had a tea party in my life. And yeah. I have so much tea, too. Mostly bags because they're cheaper, but I do love me some nice loose leaf. A friend of mine gave me blooming tea for my birthday one year and I really want to try it and thus the reason for the tea party. It seems like something that should be enjoyed with people. I'm not sure if it'd be safe to drink anymore, though... It's been a couple of years and I've never left tea alone for so long.

Kaiamond, me, too. I mean, there are circumstances that can't be helped. Like suddenly getting sick and such. But it's just common courtesy, right? I've had a friend (another friend) who's pretty bad at showing up to appointments.

Dry heat is always nice. We're still pretty chilly up here. Today was around 18~9 C (64~49 F). There was a slight shower, too. It wasn't that bad.

Yeah, a real tea party sounds nice. I'd try to set one up with the group I'm in (even though I don't stay in contact with them too much), but they all live like...an hour or more away from where I'm at, and all in the same general area. So to set one up reasonably, I'd have to set it up up there, and I can't exactly say "I want to have a tea party. [name], you set it up and host it, cause you live where everyone else is."

I would love to have more loose leaf tea, but there's no place out here that sells it, and I can't exactly afford $20+ for a few cups of tea, or on a lot of tea that I don't even know if I'll like. So Adagio is out of the question. I got some small tins through ThinkGeek though, but they don't sell larger tins in any of the blends except the earl grey, which I don't care too much for. I would love to get a large tin of their blood orange herbal and jasmine green. (ironically, their tea is done through Adagio, but I can't get the specific blends ThinkGeek used because they're not available on Adagio)
