this will actally be tricky. how do you show a long strait ponytail without special effects like "flow with the wind"? no way. maybe if you make it a side pony tail, but this won't be nearly as badass as a symmetrical pony tail. or you can give more volume to the hair but then it won't be completely straight. sort of, it would be type 1c hair instead of 1a (or even 1b)

head to the side is out of question. and without head to the side t will just look like a bun. hair to the foreground would be a solution but I'm afraid it will hinder the badassness too.

I never said head to the side -.-
I meant the version of the ponytail.... It is a bit thicker and thus visible from the front. And I DON'T mean thick hair, I mean this special ponytail.

yeah yeah I know! it was more like a contemplation that head to the side would solve the problem completely
now I think maybe to prevent it looking like a bun, I could start it thin and then slowly widen, so that when the hair goes down, it's actually recognizable as ponytail...?
the second one is what I originally wanted but it looks more like a bun. the first one is what I mean now, but it should be worked to perfection, of course
