Heh, there's another community I come from that's very strict about art theft. You can't post any image you didn't create or get permission to use, basically. Memes made to be reposted everywhere (like lolcats) are exceptions most of the time though. I'm not talking in the Art forums either. I'm talking pretty much anywhere. So if we got to talking about anime, and I said "Here is a picture of my favorite anime character" and posted a screencap... Nope, art theft. -_-;;

Yeah, that place has a lot of kinda dumb rules. I think this one started with people getting upset that people were posting pics they got off DA or something, and the original artist wouldn't want them reposted on the forums. Then that method of thinking spiraled out of control, they couldn't figure out where to draw the line, and a lot of things ended up shoved under the art theft category.

Some people consider that art theft, some people only consider it theft if you outright say "I drew this". Personally, I wouldn't be thrilled if someone had some of my art on their site/blog without crediting me or linking back. Depends on the context, I guess.
