Yeah, we couldn't even get rid of knuffel until a few months ago. (I don't think anyways, I never really tried O.O)

Oh, this blog on tumblr.. it has people make artist confessions, but most of them are like 'blahblah so-and-so doesn't deserve this DA attention *obviously jealous*' and 'blahblah I wish I was popular *cry*'
It's kinda annoying... and it makes me feel like being DA famous is something important. O.o Though honestly I don't really care if I am or not. As long as I have commissioners then my pageview count can stay below 3k for all I care.

I feel sorry for those so called artists, that judge their own and others skills based on DA popularity. Like If having lots of faves makes you better then others. Some act like if art doesn't exist outside DA at all.

Yeah, I learned a long time ago not to judge my art off others. it always makes you feel really down on yourself.

I really don't get why people get so worked up over a popularity contest.

And then they try to say things like 'I don't care about being popular. But, I wish I had all these views and blah blah.' ..... seriously?

well, if you want commissions, it is important to be popular. sad to say, popularity sometimes trumps skill on that one. honestly i've seen horrible art being sold... as in people who both draw and color worse than me sell commissions for as much as you... which to me does not make sense at all. well, i guess an artist can ask for whatever they want... what really does make sense is when they have customers. -_-

with that said, popularity does come in handy... but then at the same time, with popularity, you get attention, you have to deal with people stealing art, flaming art for no apparent reason, a gazillion messages that you may not want to reply to, and so forth.

so there is a trade-off. some people love the attention. not sure it's for all as i've seen people quit DA or completely delete their gallery for a revamp or change accounts because of this.

meh, I get most of my commissions from people on sites like this. DA is just there for me to hash out the details. XD
I think I've had 2 or 3 commissioners on DA. I've been somewhat popular on DA before. It's not that great. *long deleted that account... bleh*

I guess for me it doesn't matter either way. I like the people that talk to me on DA already. If more show up, great. If not, no loss to me.

Yeah, I unfollowed artist-confessions to be honest. xD Some of them were nice, like people praising some artists, and I even submitted two confessions of my own. But so many of them were flaming back and forth or just complaining. I was like.... Ehhhhhhhhno. And clicked unfollow. :'D

dumbdeviantart though, that's a tumblr I will probably never unfollow.

DA popularity doesn't seem that important to me. Commissions would be nice, sure, but I don't deal well with haters. I tend to flip them the bird and mouth off. |D Which wouldn't be good for the CAREFULLY CRAFTED NICE PERSON IMAGE I have on the internets!

I am like seriously about to unfollow too. It's disgusting seeing so much jealousy flying back and forth. I'm glad I'm not popular so no one says mean things about me like that. :(

I usually just ignore hater posts. I'm just the kind of person to brush it off. You don't like it? Ok w/e you just keep posting like an idiot. lmao

seriously though... why is everyone on that blog so jealous? It's really ugly. It just makes them seem so shallow and ugly to me. To take your jealousy out like that and bash someone you don't even know.... it's sad.

It is really sad! These people have a great opportunity on that tumblr to show people other artist's good points but all people do on there is complain and whine and try to drag each other down to make themselves feel better. It's a shame, really. D8

I hope I never fall like that. :(

I started following animeconfessions (or something like that), most of them are kind of interesting. XD at least it has a lot less bashing.

i'm too busy to even deal with DA lately. i'm way behind on anything related to DA... i don't think i've submitted anything for the past year. i've only been there to contact friends from overseas, and i bought an artbook or two from artists. XD
