My brother had to drop out because he was getting bad grades like that. He's taken classes over and got worse grades the second time around. If my brother is not interested in something he doesn't put fourth the effort. And on top of that he was more concerned with playing video games instead of getting his work done and turned in on time, making excuses that the teacher didn't give out a syllabus when the are required to because I went to the same college. :mcmeh: And this was a community one he had full tuition for except for books for two year like I did, stupid older brother. :mcmeh:

thats kinda like me actually o.o the effort thing i mean (not the bad grades and dropping out >>; ). however its more like i TRY, but not as hard as i should. I did try hard for my one math class i ended up dropping. i find that ironic that the class i tried hard to pass i gave up in because i got overwhelmed and didnt want to fail and tha classes i only put some effort in i still manage a B >> i dont see the logic in that.

he used the syllabus excuse!?!?!?

Yep, and the worst thing is all you had to do was either e-mail the professor and tell them you lost it and they would e-mail the file to you or tell them after class/during office hours (which were posted on their door) about it. And then when he turned in assignments late and had to leave it in the professor's mail box and got bad grades still, he blamed it on the teacher 'losing the submissions and acting like he didn't care' when my brother obviously didn't put effort into doing the assignments in the first place. He keeps saying he wants to go back to college but he keeps wasting his money on buying games and such he really doesn't need. :mcmeh:

And here's the best part, he got on my case for calling the new console system for SEGA games a Genesis because it's not a 'real Genesis but rather an emulator' when it's made by the SEGA company and called a Genesis. :mcmeh: But yet he LOVES the second worst Spyro game I've ever played, Skylanders and wasted a lot of money to get the figures and stuff for it. :mcmeh: I played the game for four hours and was already bored and wanted nothing more to do with the game. Not only does it completely deviate from the original series (and all other series) it's basically a more 'kid friendly' hack and slash game with a really pathetic story in my opinion. The idea of using figures for the characters was pretty smart but they could have done MUCH better with the game than what they did. Not to mention it's way too simple and easy to beat, even pokemon is harder and that's one of the easiest ones for me to beat.

Sorry for the rant. :qhehe:

ah, that must be a headache. he must have driven the teachers crazy >.e

is it a knock off or something? i dont get it. i Never played Spyro but i heard it was good. That sounds frustrating that it didn't meet your expectations especially if you paid a lot for it.

POKEMON \owo/

its totally fine~ everyone needs to express themselves every now and again =w=b

Skylanders uses a unique concept as far as I can tell, which is using figures that store data about the character being played. Which overall is a good concept, however the problem lies in the execution of the game itself. The plot and mechanics of the game don't meet the expectations of most of the people who played the original three games, not to mention it's overly simple to play.

For example in the original three Spyro games you could go to any of the releams within the home world in any order you wanted for the most part, and you could go onto the next home world as long as you meet certain criteria. Like in the first game you had to reach whatever the goal of the local balloonist is, second and third one you had to beat bosses. In the first one you may be required to beat the bosses as well, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Not to mention that in all three games there were puzzles and different kinds of challenges for you to do that, depending on what the stage is, is required for you to complete the level at least or get 100% in the game. Some of them are extremely challenging, like Treetops in the first game, just about EVERY person who's played the first one recognizes this stage as the hardest one there is.

For the ones that came out after that they placed more control over where you could go, Enter the Dragonfly restricted it through the use of the breaths, some areas you cannot get to unless you had a specific breath, kind of like the second Spryo game with the abilities but in the second one your choice of where to go weren't as limited either. For a Hero's Tale there was some exploring, but still had to follow a certain path to begin with, such as being told to look for a specific person in order to continue on with the game. But they did allow you to play as other, interesting characters. One was Bently, one is Hunter and one is the Professor's nephew (can't remember his name). But when the final trilogy came out, all that was tossed out the window and you were forced down a set path with no side things what so ever. And on top of that none of the breaths you got stayed consistent from the first to second and second to third game. Though admittedly the third game had the best combat system, they turned an adventure puzzle/strategy game into your average RPG hack and slash game with you only being allowed to play the wizard basically. Not to mention that if you had the breaths all maxed out in the first one of that series, you still had to start all over again because during the final boss fight Spyro 'forgot' how to use his breath abilities, and for the third one he was sealed in crystal for several years with Cynder and doesn't remember how to use them. :mcmeh:

With the original three Spyro games, you had ALL of the abilities that you learned in the second game in the third game, which makes perfect sense since he had already learned them. I've also tried to play the GBA games, but I just couldn't get the hang of the controls and camera angel, which was this weird top view thing. x'D

oh geez thats horrible!!! the hell! they basically transformed into an rpg?! I have played .hack//GU and basically there you dont HAVE to follow the storyline. you need to if you want to progress to different towns and get certain items... and well.. finish the game. But you can do all these quests and random hunts aside from that and play it your way until you feel like doing the story (or need to to get a different town) if they took that away id be furious!
Its like theyre stripping away your freedom!
you even get to transfer all you money/items/skills to the next one!
I feel ya on this!

I've played both series of .hack// games, haven't beaten the third one for the second series yet, but what you mentioned is one of the things I like about that series of games. XD You're not restricted, you can do other things if you want to. And I LOVE the bike in the second series, so much fun! XD

So yeah, when we played those Spyro games (more so me watching my brother), I was NOT happy. Not to mention that there was one fight that was so hard even my brother had a hard time beating it, and he is one of the best players I've ever seen. :qmeh: But in the third one of the PS2 trilogy you can play older chapters to find hidden things, but that doesn't really change much since all you can do is fully explore and area that's not really all that big, and then continue the story. No side quests or anything. :mcmeh:

Aha, it's been three years for me as well, and I have pretty poor memory to begin with. I'm afraid I don't remember you, but this seems like a good a time as any for a reunion... er, or so it would be, if I weren't about to run downstairs for a quick dinner.

How've you been? How's life?
