There are teacup chihuahuas that stay pretty small, but they can be rather yappy. Also they tend to bond with only one person and are either scared of or angry at other people.

Maybe whenever you get the chance to move out and live on your own? That's something a lot of people do when they move into a new place after living somewhere they couldn't have pets. Or just because, like my sister. She was determined to get a cute little dog when she moved out, and sure enough she was able to get an adorable Pomeranian named Lexi from one of her friend's grandmother.

How big is a cocker spaniel?

Cocker Spaniels aren't all that big. Notably smaller than the average labrador. Comparable in size to the larger terriers (Wheaton, Irish, Kerry Blue, etc), and comparable to a Shiba Inu, or a beagle.

Hmm, then which dog is big enough to cuddle? I've always wanted a dog like that.

Oh, a cocker spaniel is totally big enough to cuddle, and not so big that they will break you if you are small. They are very snuggleable.

Yay! But it'll have to wait till I get older.

Some small dogs are great for cuddling, like my sister's Pomeranian. She jumps into your lap and leans into you and you just can't help but cuddle her.
