My kitty Pepper is totally clingy. She also demands cuddle time every night when I go to bed and every morning when I wake up. She insists upon as many non scheduled cuddles as she can get. Poor sweetheart doesn't understand things like "Mommy is highly perturbed, so go love on Daddy".

When I tell people I want a clingy cat, they usually tell me it's not a good idea.
It's really hard to get work done when they're sitting on your laptop or constantly scratching at your door and meowing.

I always thought everyone let their cat outside but some people just keep them inside 5ever. 8U

My cat that passed last year was a mostly inside cat, the cat I still have loves being outside unless it's really hot which it has been. He is also a clingy cat and demands cuddles and pettings a lot.

Poshi, have you tried looking up hypoallergenic cats like the Siberian? Siberians make less of the protein which causes the allergies and they are so cute and fluffy!!

Also, best way to find a clingy cat is to let it choose you when you go to the shelter. A clingy cat will be the first one wanting to climb into your lap or arms. There are a lot of those at the shelter I volunteer at.

If you have found the right kitty for you (and your kitty has found the right human), it has been my experience that you can't really be upset at your feline for being in the way or too needy. My girls have been constantly improving their pathetic "do whatever I ask or else I will give you sad face" cries. Just when I get accustomed to a particular whineeds and could refuse to acknowledge it, they develop a new one.


Aww, when I am all mad, cuddles only help if I am already past the apex of frustration. Until I hit that point, I want to wallow for a bit, since it is usually impotent fury. I want to give my sweet girl the loves that she deserves.

Indoor kitties on average have notably longer lives than outdoor kitties. But is safety worth the purely indoor lifestyle? That is up to the individual pet lover.
