Mm, I love porridge, too.
Have you ever made extra, and then let it get cold and hard and sliced it and fried it up? Maybe put an egg on with it?

Yes!
I like to make a big pot of it, and the first day I have it hot, in a bowl, with whatever fixings/toppings.
Then I take the extra and grease a water glass and put the extra into the water-glass, cover it, and into the fridge (I

LOVE

having a fridge!!!) -and you can do multiple at once, if you want
And then later, for lunch or maybe the next day for breakfast, it's solidified more and thickened up more. So you slide it out of the glass (sometimes I have to run a skewer around the edges to loosen it), and it holds its shape, and I just stick it on its side and slice it into circles/patties, and fry them.
It's really good!

What do you eat it with?

Fresh herbs, salt and pepper, maybe an egg.
Or, instead of that, possibly hot peppers and melted cheese.
Or, for a sweet version, syrup and cinnamon
Or hot apple butter and a candied lemon garnish
Or dipped into dhaal
Or with some salsa and sour cream.
Or....
well, lots of ways! It is as versatile as is porridge itself.

Oh wow, you can really go any way with it haha I'm not particularly fond of oatmeals (porridge that's not with rice lol)... but maybe I just haven't tasted a good one yet

The beautiful thing about oatmeal and rice porridge is that it is so bland by itself so you can doctor however you wish.

H-uh. Typically I'm so busy eating the strawberries I never end up cooking with them. Have to try them in porridge some time.
