Ugh that sucks.
Although quite like these two things:
1. once my grandma gave me a book series that turned out to be pretty much like that, only I couldn't find the last one existing anywhere
2. I used to read a manga series where they just never wrote or released the last book

@Jacob hey I have a book by John Grisham too

I'd never heard of him before I got it. Someone was giving it away so my dad just grabbed it even though I didn't really want it but now I keep seeing his books everywhere. Let me know if you enjoy his book once you've read it

That stuff drives me nuts.
I've been reading a series called The Runelords. I read the first book like 20 years ago. The author wrote 8 books. Book #9 was, I believe, going to be the last book and was supposed to come out not too long ago, this year or last year I think. But then I heard his son got in a really bad accident. So now it's on hold. I admit I am selfishly terrified that the series will never get finished now.
I also read a book called The Magic and The Healing that my uncle gave to me about 20 years ago, and I haven't been able to find book #2. I'm currently waiting for it on paperbackswap.

@Ghost so far it's just okay. It's got a very masculine viewpoint, kind of old-fashioned, but I guess that's because it's over 20 years old now.

ah that makes sense. I think this is gonna be one of those books I read just to get rid of. The cover/title didn't really catch my eye and it's not a book I would have gotten if it wasn't free.

Same here! I just thought I might as well give it a go since he's so famous. I mean, I'll keep reading to the end because it might get better, I don't know.

I made the mistake of reading the reviews for the book and it sounds like it's not going to be my thing at all XD Oh well, I'll keep going.
