Those things in general do use up a lot of electricity, same for AC.
If it wasn't so necessary

Well I dunno, my parents said they used a lot of electricity. Maybe this place is just old lol.

That probably explains a lot.
If the units themselves are old too even more.
And then there's the placement of the house relative to the sun and the windows and a lot of things.

Today was pretty weird when I went out, it feels like autumn, the wind feels like autumn but it's still SO hot I was sweating. I can't wait for the weekend, it looks like it'll rain, which will bring the temperatures down.

I think it just got hotter here when the sun was out at the highest point. Then it cooled down a bit.

You're so lucky.
When I don't get the sun directly, I get the reflection from the glass buildings on the other side of the road.
Actually, the sun being out at the highest point is when it finally gets bearable without AC inside. Now at least.

My room also doesn’t get much sun and I have dark blinds. My room had a balcony that has an awning so I can open my blinds and get some light…but the sun will never come in bc the balcony is in the way.

My room is the same way. Also, the buildings on the other side completely block the sun.
Which is why the living room is where the light is. I hate having to switch on the lights when it's still bright outside.

The main bedroom gets direct sunlight. It’s at the right height and there’s no awning or shade in front of it. So that bedroom can get pretty warm from all that direct sunlight.
