oh alright I'll keep that in mind!

I like expressing their personality through clothing. there are some I love and don't care to equip with anything because they are just cool the way they are, but sometimes items give a nice touch so why not. one of my dragons even got the personality while I was dressing it up. putting on stuff gives you the time and some base to think what they could be like. it's a lot like when I was creating sims: it forced my mind to think of a story for them.

@Errisa: I enjoy YA novels best, especially slice-of-life or fantasy, however, I'm open to all genres of fiction, provided that they suit my tastes. Aside from that, I also have a collection of books I keep for reference (either relating to writing, art, or personal interests) and my interests in theology as well as my personal background means that I have a number of Christian books as well. If I'm of a certain belief and mean to practice it, I should be knowledgable and well-read on the subject, yeah?
:o oh wow! I completely agree- when I was a muslim (not by choice :qhehe: :qhehe: ) I learned all I could about my religion, and then Christianity and Judaism cause of how related the religions are. From that I concluded most people really are ignorant of their own religion AND just believes what certain few would want them too. i could go on and on about this topic xD But yes that's an amazing thing to do!

@Alice: Ah, I get that. My dergs' personalities are more often based on genes and coloration, but the accessories would offer a nice touch.

@Errisa: I happen to have a personality type that's often defined as "intellectual" [not necessarily meaning that I'm smarter than others, but that I appreciate learning/studying/absorbing information]; that, along with high moral values, the fact that I'm somewhat reasoning/logic-oriented, as well as mildly sensitive and often attempt to understand others [regardless of whether or not I agree with them], and am somewhat contemplative --er, these elements make for a recipe that makes me receptive towards religion and interested in pursuing the subject.

But this is what I find to be true, and this is what works for me; I don't expect everyone to think the same ways or hold the same beliefs or values. Other people put their values and identity in other things that they believe work best for them, and other people have different personalities, backgrounds, and experiences that shape their life and who they are.

*end rant, pfft*

Why phone and not computer? Not set up yet? :D

Yes, I'm up to date!

While trying to find a release date for the next book I found:
"Will you describe the next book in five words?"
MWT: "dirt. gold. slave. lion. ship."

And I'm really wondering what her take on slavery's going to be like. I'm really uncomfortable with topics like slavery, sexism, etc in general. :( I can't wait for the next book, of course, but there's some dread and anxiousness mixed in with the excitement.

Yup, that's very cool of her!

I'd love to see your list of books. :mcsquee:

(sorry, it takes me forever to type replies. :mcblush: I'm probably going for now - see you tomorrow!)

@Mika- Yea I totally understand where you;re coming from. I don;t want ppl to think like me xD or hold my values. It's just those ignorant preachy people I can't stand. Who teach to others stuff that are outright lies or taken out of context. And no matter what I will not accept them. I mean its one thing to believe something and I will accept that. But another to take something AND twist it to further your gains; to manipulate. And I believe with religion this is done so very often and leads to many scary events.. If you get what I mean?

@Saloiq: I was in Vegas over the weekend, and since I don't have a laptop, it was either phone or go downstairs to use the guest computers.

Aha, I haven't read Conspiracy of Kings in a while, but I remember really enjoying it. I'll have to reread it again in the near future.

Hmm, but hasn't she already done a bit of slavery, and hasn't she broken female stereotypes and brought up sexism? I don't mind such topics to some degree, but when they get as dark as "A Song of Ice and Fire" (Game of Thrones), then I've got to put the book down.

Aha, I need to clean up that list. Do you have a list? Any recs?

@Errisa: Whether or not someone agrees with my opinions, I definitely prefer logical/rational-thinkers over someone who is feeling-oriented (but that's because I feel like we're on the same page). Even better if we have the same core values, because that generally means that we'll get along better.

Other elements are less important though; as between Ocean and I, although we have many similarities (mostly on the big stuff), we also have many differences. Somehow the similarities tighten our bond, but our differences also keeps things interesting and add new elements to our individual lives.

Manipulative people aren't much fun to be around with, yeah. I generally attempt to communicate and repair relationships, hurts, or misunderstandings, but if I'm unable to do so, I sort of have to let those old friends go.

Yes, I understand what you mean about religion. I believe that strong feelings and beliefs can yield really good or really bad things, depending on how it's given and how it's received.

@Lacrimosa: You gave me so much beautiful art, and we used to talk so often; of course I remember you. XD Yes, I've been very well! You?

Ah, yeah. I'm MikaelHart. XD You're Lacrimosa on FR as well? I'll go add you! :D

Hahah, well I have been forgotten by others before, so. XDD <3
Honestly I had a really rough patch, but things have started to improve a lot in the past 2 years. So pretty good at the moment. x)
What brought you back to KofK?
Yus! Accepted. Man you have so many pretties. I take it you like Coatls a lot. XD

It happens. I generally have poor memory, so I often forget people I don't talk to regularly, but it seems like people generally remember me.

Online, I think it's more because I've been a moderator of at least three sites, but IRL, I'm sorta quirky and hard to forget. XD;

Ah, I see. I hope things continue to improve for you. I know the feeling, though perhaps I don't share your exact experiences, but everyone hits a rough patch now and then.

Ocean and I were talking about commissions, and I came here to check my FCs. Then I came to check the art, and then I felt like I have so much stuff, it's wasteful to sell it and leave permanently. XD;

Thanks! Ocean is actually helping me keep a few others, but Coatls and Imps are my favorites. X3

Ahh, I see. XD I think that's understandable--when you talk to so many people in a work position you can't remember everyone. o;

Thank you. :> And oh definitely, just my depression really hit its peak and I kind of ceased to function and exist normally for quite some time. :p That's only part of it, but a big part of it. xDD
But I got on top of a lot of things last year and now I have a full-time job so at least that's something.

Ooh okay, were there commissions you were waiting on here? o; I haven't done any on here in so long, though I did recently do one for Veetles when I was really tight financially IRL.

Hehe, nice. x) I love coatls, they're so round and cute. Imps were my favourite at first.
