Yeah! I haven't had a shop since then, actually.. and yeah it feels like forever ago. XD
LOL, oh gosh. That sounds kind of amazing. XDD
Ahh I've heard of that! Can't remember if I tried it or not. And dude, that's awesome! I'd love to do something like that. Were you all close enough/in the same area or?
Whoops! Sorry about that, Lacri!
My memory is terrible --especially when it comes to numbers and dates. I have forgotten my own birthday and almost overlooked Christmas Eve before. I can't tell you where half of my friends work or go to school either. *facepalm*
It's probably part of why I feel more comfortable with writing --at least here, I can look up references and double-check on anything I need.
Aha, well, if you can earn cash from art, it feels like a step up from earning game money.
Yeah, we didn't know it initially, but my group and the other group all lived roughly in the SoCal area. There was a third group as well, that lived in NorCal. My group was called Giyaka [after Rush Hour], and the second group was called Explodia [something about Yu-Gi-Oh]. I don't remember the name of the third group, but one of the guys, Naoi, came down for school, and we hung out with him almost weekly. He's back in NorCal now, but he'll come back when school opens again.
This wasn't my first RL meet-up, though. When I was a mod in another forum, we had a meet-up, and it was crazy because people came from around the world. I can't remember who came from where outside of the people I was sharing my room with: two girls from England, one from Canada... err... and I think there was another one from another part of Europe. There were two rooms' worth of peeps, and we all hung out at Anime Expo and around that area for two weeks.
Errisa wrote:@Mika- :/ hmm a little. I loved reading when I was younger and my skill level by that point was much better than a normal grade 9. But yea I did miss some key ideas and stuff for sure. I recently reread before going to the watch movie xD
Yea same- and I agree! Except
Oh you see since we were 2 people only and had limited time xD we would solo frequently. Also to grind for materials needed to make items and quests. I would end up soloing the the final bosses on hero xD cause it got too easy. AND then there were super hard boses that we couldn't 2 people >>; argh.
Aha.
Except?
But why didn't you join another guild? Or use a pub-boat?
Aside from the regulars in my channel, I also made friends with two other guys --er, I can't remember their names now, but I helped one along [he was Karok], and then there was another who helped me along [he was an Evie]. One of my RL friends also befriended another Evie player, and sometimes the three of us would run maps together.

Except I didnt like the original as much as some of my faves XD
Oh I wasnt in a guild. When I was playing it there was rarely any active ppl..... so pub boats took forever to fill and guilds had like maybe 1 active person.
We made one friend but he quit.... soo

Ooh, I see. Yes, aside from boss runs, sometimes it takes a while for a boat to fill up.

@Mikael; Oh gosh, me too. I am soooo SOOO bad with numbers and dates. I have to write things down or I will forget. 8C I've found my calendar to be a bit of a lifesaver. I have to check my work schedule constantly because I'm like, now wait.. do I work Friday? Or was it Saturday??
And I can def understand that. It feels better to have things written down as well. XD
Hmm well I've only done art for cash once, and that was very recently. I'd love to be able to do more, but I dunno how to get myself out there haha.
Woah, that's pretty amazing! And I'd love to see or be part of a meet-up with people from all over the world and not just the country. x) That would be so cool. That all sounds like so much fun though, what an experience!

*nod* I write things down too, and if I'm lucky, I don't lose my notes, pfft.
Yeah, that bit seems to be the problem for artists.
Aha, it's best if you're the one hosting [if it's in your area] for a RL meet-up, since plane tickets are expensive. I've gotta start saving myself for that purpose --not for a RL meet up with net buddies, but because my brother and I want to go to Japan, and also because we're going to Chicago next year.

That is indeed the catch, isn't it? XD I actually just cleaned out my desk today, got rid of lots of old notes lol. I should do my purse, too..
Other problem is pricing. People generally undervalue art these days, and don't want to pay a lot. :c There are folks who will sell full-blown illustrations for twenty bucks and like. I can't do that. That's horrid underpayment. D8 I was thinking of maybe doing $5 headshots but..
Ahh makes sense. I'd love to visit Japan sometime too.~ Ooh, what are you doing in Chicago? I actually live a few hours away from there. I need to go there for a day trip and get my passport renewed. xP

Sometimes I write my notes half-asleep or in the dark, and I can't read them the next day. *facepalm* Sometimes when I write, I just jot down key words, and then I can't figure them out later. *double-facepalm* Good grief.
Ah, yeah, that's true. But there are also those who charge like crazy for their art and make bank.
I need to renew my passport too. When we go to Japan, if we go to Japan, my brother and I would want to see all the sites, and do things like visit the hot springs and the owl cafe. I also want to go to a tea ceremony, and he wants to eat sushi everyday. XD
As for Chicago, my church has sister churches all over the states and the world, and one of them is set in Chicago. The church in Seattle usually hosts, but this past year [last month] we hosted instead, except we did ours at Vegas, since it's so close.
If I go to Chicago, I'd love to meet up with you. XD

LOL, aw man. You need like a little notebook and flashlight. I've had that happen to me with class notes once before.
Aye.. I am jealous of those ones. o;
Ahhh, owl cafe, dude me tooo. ;__; I'd love to try a hot spring but I worry I might get dizzy too quickly. Are there places you can go for tea ceremonies? O:
Ahh, I see! So it's some sort of event for your church? o:
That would be awesome! XD

Aha, I had to keep that list so that I don't keep buying doubles... I pretty much make lists of everything. *facepalm* If you ask me for my favorite among favorites, I can rec you something. If you've read anything on my list, we can talk about it. :D Well, if I've already read it, that is.
Hm, unfairness like in The Nanny Diaries, where the parents don't give a crap about their kid and the nanny tries but can't do anything about it. And like in HP with Umbridge & the Black Quill. <-- this one's the better example
After a tiny bit of skimming!~
Have you read the sequels to Princess Academy? When I saw
Palace of Stone &
The Forgotten Sisters in the library, their covers really turned me off reading them. :s
Because I loved the first book, but its cover (
the version my book had) was what I built my interpretation of the characters & settings around. The quaint art, muted colors (
more accurate colors here sorry lol), so defined the story for me that it's hard to grasp it continues behind such different covers. @_@
Basically I'm curious if I should grab the sequels despite my prejudices or not. -3-
Do covers influence you as much as they apparently influence me? xD
I'd chat but ergh it's so late! -v- G'night!

@Lacri: Aha, that may be true.
Oh, are you the type to get dizzy easily? I get carsick easily, if I don't eat and sleep properly. I'm sure there are places to view the ceremonies if you book them.
Yeah, it's a church conference --they all generally go the same way. In the morning, there is breakfast and prayer, and then we have a lesson or two before lunch. After lunch, there are workshops with different themes to choose from, and sometimes games. Then there's a break, and one day of the trip they would have baptism at this time, and then dinner. Then comes two more lessons, and people would hang out after [the young ones like to play games]. Oh, and worship [singing] always precedes the lessons.
It's pretty steady, and I enjoy the conferences. This year, I helped with the church shop, which is like fundraising to help pay for the extra fees of the event. We sold t-shirts, snacks, and CDs made by peeps from church.
Aha, sounds great! I'll let you know when the date's decided; since the conference covers the fee for the stay, I'll have to pay extra if I want to stay longer.
@Saloiq: Ah, I see... but is that sexism or general unfairness?
Oh, I haven't, but are they any good? [Oh...you didn't read them either, pfft.] I read Princess Academy on chance, and found that I actually enjoyed it to some extent.
I know what you mean about the covers. My cover of the first book has a picture of a girl standing in front of something... a castle or a wall. It's boxed up, so I can't much recall it. I like the cover design in your links, though.
Aha, yes, they influence me if I don't know the book. That's why it took me, like, fifteen or twenty years to read "The Giver" --I was not interested in the picture of an old man. After I read it [thanks to a friend], I quickly snatched up the other books. It also took me a long time to read "The Hobbit" because of an ugly cover, but I enjoyed the book when I finally got around to it.
Sometimes, a cover is really nice, but the content is disappoint. Geez, that's sad.
