@Moi: It would be truly a pointless argument.
Why won't you try going to that salon? Especially if you know the hairdresser there and you trust her. It's nice to just sit in a chair and get pampered, even when other people are around.
Last time I spoke to an optician, he said about 99% of population has astigmatism XD
@jacob: Doesn't your hair end up uneven with just two sections? I've been binging Brad Mondo's videos lately and followed his instructions (kinda), so I went for dry hair to see what the final outcome would be and I perhaps went for too many sections, but I just couldn't handle 4 sections like he suggested xD
I botched the layering, but I don't mind it, I just look a little bit shaggy at the ends

Maybe next time I'll do better, for now it's still pandemic and I'm basically not leaving home anyways xD

@Mem No, because the key is making sure it's really straight before you tie it off and then you can bring them right next to each other to compare! I've been getting a completely straight edge. It's been a few weeks so the ends don't look great anymore, but if I remember next time, I might take a picture to show. I really love having a completely straight edge haha, I know youtube hairdressers say to feather it a bit but I don't care, it looks nice to me

I used to love my bangs being long. People would complain they were in my eyes and tell me to cut them but I liked them long.
I eventually grew my bangs out and now just part my hair and expose my forehead.
I decided I missed having bangs so I asked my mom to cut my hair.
Instantly regretted it. I looked 100% worse with bangs. Grew them back out. xD;
People scare me 8u
Usually I don't even talk to the person cutting my hair either.
I'm just quiet. Don't like talking to people.
I didn't talk much to the one who bleached and dyed my hair either - my mom knows her and they talked the whole time.
I've never had one tell me "You have Astigmatism!"
It's just "Your eyes are bad here's glasses 8u/"

@jacob: So wait, you wash your hair, and then do you tie it to the sides and rest it where your arm and shoulder come together? I was trying to section my hair in 4, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. It was difficult to level it all without help (and Ash was all I had, lol).
I like feathered hair more than straight cut, so I guess I can keep listening to the hairdressers, lol. But whatever you feel good in, it's your hair
@Moi: People scare me too, but they usually don't want to hurt you :D
I never talk to the person cutting my hair. I just relax and enjoy the feeling of someone playing with my hair

I really love it. You don't really need to talk to the hairdresser after you've explained what you want. At the end you just express your opinion, say thank you, pay and goodbye, you won't see them in a few weeks/months anyways.
I guess you could ask next time you have an eye exam or something. I think mine was just really talkative

I see people talking to the person cutting their hair a lot. Like gossip and stuff.
I just sit there rigid and avoid eye contact and talk very little.
Though it does feel good having someone play with my hair.
I have to get an eye exam again some time this year so I may ask.
I also get horrific stabbing and burning pain in my eye, but no one's figured out what it is.
I also have bigger pupils than normal.
I had no idea until my family pointed it out.
"Why are your pupils so big oO?"
I don't know. I didn't know they were big ._.

@Mem I tie it right at the end, so it will depend on how long your hair is I guess haha. Basically right above where I want to cut it, with a little room left for my fingers to grip the hair tight while I cut. I just part it and hold the hair very straight right to the side of my face/as far back as it can go without being distorted by the shoulder, and I comb through a few times until I'm satisfied it's totally straight before I tie off. Once it's tied, I can move it around as much as I like because the hair is kept in place at the end where it matters.

@Moi: Yeah, I never understood people just casually chatting with the hairdresser. Like, it's small talk or gossip. I hate both XD I don't really trust hairdressers in the first place, why would I share any information with them that's outside pof hair matters?
Hm, it probably means you don't see very well because your eyes try to catch as much light/detail as possible. But that's just general knowledge and I'm really just guessing. Certain substances can cause widening of pupils, but Idk if there are some common substances (like, not drugs) that would cause it. Or maybe it's some medication you're taking.
@jacob: Okay, so wet hair, parting, just two sections. Got it. *Makes notes for the future* I think it might be easier to keep my hair straight when it's wet, because when it was dry, it was slightly wavy, and I don't have a flat iron or anything and Brad said to keep the hair dry AND pin straight and I was like: "hehe, usually, sure, my hair's pin straight. Right when I'm about to cut it? trololololol, not today, mehehe

" . Maybe that's why it came out messy XD

I guess if you go to the same one over and over, you build up a friendship.
Only thing I know is I sit in the dark a lot u8
I don't know if that does anything or not.
Like I said, I didn't even know until someone pointed it out.

@Mem fingers crossed for you then!
I ended up being pretty good friends with my last hairdresser. She would come to our house parties and stuff. But that was more because she was so funny and talkative, I didn't really try at first XD In the end because we are both self-employed we had a lot to talk about. We would usually spend almost the whole time ranting about our latest really difficult clients, since we had no one else to share this with XD She quit being a hairdresser at the end of last year though so even when the lockdown is over I'll have to find someone new.
(or my better plan: continue doing it myself because I don't want to talk to a new person either lolllll)

@Moi: Maybe your eyes simply adjusted to your most frequent environment
@jacob: Thanks!
I saw my granny and mom yesterday, apparently my hair isn't messy at all and looks like I had a haircut at a salon XD They were both like "can you give ME a haircut? Yours looks so good!", and I'm here like... it's probably just a beginner's luck, plus I tried my best to follow a professional's directions, PLUS I'd rather practice and ruin my and/or Ash's hair than anybody else's XD And Ash's hair is actually much longer than granny's or mom's so there's room for my rookie mistakes 8D
Now I'm scared they'll actually want me to cut their hair for real tho...
