I know, it seems simple enough to me, but they're putting up a fight for some reason! Maybe laziness or maybe someone doesn't want their boss to find out they screwed up or something? But I'm not just going to just roll over and pay $4,000, so it seems like their boss would be more annoyed by the fact that they didn't just fix it!

I am sorry to hear you got sick! Get well soon!
This counts for me, too btw...
Somewhen last week I started feeling worse, running nose and a sore throat.. And I am coughing a lot, which I usually never do.
Anyway, I hoped it would be better today, but it actually got a little worse.

Yea totally! The ending of Narnia is so unexpected, I would almost say stupid. What the hell, really? In my opinion one can truly see the Christian influence in the last book, it's actually annoying, one can find so much of it in there!

Reading and drying the hair off... Interesting, I've never even thought about this! I usually read in the mornings or evenings, after waking up or before going to bed.
Yeah... the ending was terrible. It was a great series up till the final chapter.

mini spoiler
I just sat there a bit trying to figure out if Aslan was the villain of the series at that point. I actually think Susan was the strongest character and I was proud of her and mad at everyone else. She actually chose to have a life and move on, and somehow that's bad?

I don't know, I generally expected more from the series. The movies were pretty hyped, maybe that's why I thought the books have to be even better...

I finished reading Wicked!!! oh my, that's the 4th books this year. can you believe my initial challenge was 12?

I'm in mixed feelings about this one. on the one hand, it's not a brilliant book. on the other hand, seeing people judge it negatively because it's not what they expected after watching the musical almost makes me angry. it's not brilliant but it's not bad and doesn't deserve such disappointment. I can or cannot disagree with the critique it's getting but not when it comes from false expectations because someone enjoyed another medium and thought it was the same story. it's not. why haven't I seen anyone writing a bad review to Anderson because his Little Mermaid is different from Disney's? or an even better example would be the Hunchback of Notre Dame. has anyone ever reviewed Hugo's Norte-Dame de Paris negatively because of the movie? people can be so ridiculous...

I've never seen the musical. I took the Wicked book out from the library once. But as soon as I got it home I realized that I had read another book by the same author once (called Lost), and I HATED it. So then I just returned Wicked without reading it. Wicked is rated much higher than Lost though!

I think the musical has drawn attention to the book. maybe people rated it high because of that too. I know I had very high expectations and the first half of the book lived up to them but then the last two parts were frankly disappointing. I can only recommend the musical though. it has wonderful dialogue and lyrics.

I've never read anything else by the author but I want to finish the wicked series

I think I finished about three books this year. Reading a few on the web, but haven't finished them.

I don't think I am going to finish any more this year. I'm halfway through one, and it's actually a really fast read, but I just haven't been reading.
