so a conversation about something else turned to accents and mimicry and all that fun stuff, and then this video series came up.

I'll have to watch those sometime.

They're honestly really interesting, and Iowa gets briefly mentioned in the second video. Newfoundland gets mentioned in the third!

Sweet! I wonder what this guy would think of my speech patterns.

*shrug* no idea. he did say the series wasn't comprehensive, so the "Midwestern Accent" wasn't covered, which is kind of disappointing, as I'd love to hear an expert's thoughts on why Midwesterners don't really *have* much accent at all.

XD As I've mentioned, some people here think I sound like I'm from the US, and so do some people from the US. Angie (Auspex mun) says I've got a bit of a twang, and also a bit of what she considers a Canadian accent, because sometimes I say "aboot".
