Meds mix into a milkshake sounds like the best idea ever
Rat update: I took Dash to the vet again on Thursday because I noticed she lost some weight and I got worried. But the vet checked on her, gave her an injection with another steroid that works for a few days and prescribed some vitamins and stuff for appetite and literally said "there's no reason to put her down now, she's too lively"
So for now she's fine. Still on steroids, pain meds. She's pretty active and feisty. Sassy even. I mix her meds with tasty foods, put it on the spoon and hope she'll eat it and then she pushes the spoon with her tiny paw as if she's trying to say "get that thing outta my snout hooman, it reeks of meds, you ain't fooling me" XDD
She's too smart to take the meds but she's not smart enough to notice she feels better after eating the stuff I give her

Makes me wonder if she has some bad side effects and that's why she's so picky. I have to admit, some of these meds really reek

But even when I mix them with jam or yoghurt or something to mask the smell/taste, she's still a 2yo in the 'NO' phase

Sometimes it's enough that she sees a spoon, so it's just an instant no for her. Other times it matters if she's the only one who gets stuff to eat (since Dot doesn't need meds, so Dash seems to be logical, idk, convince me otherwise XD). Other-other times she's just full and then eats the stuff after she's done her business. It's hit or miss with her. But I'm glad that despite all that she's still full of energy, especially at the vet or weighing or taking meds by force (though I stopped doing that, seems to make things worse for her). so yeah. I'm actually struggling to give her the evening meds right now 8)
