Julez, surely you've picked up a book and discovered if you like it or not by starting to read it? I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or serious when you asked that.... tone is so hard to discover from text...
I guess if you are someone who feels obligated to finish every book you start, you would want more information before starting anything. But if you don't mind putting down a book you aren't enjoying, then it is simple to just begin reading without checking the back or inside-cover blurb.

I've now finished all the Dr. Siri books that my library has, and so I'm instead rereading some old favorites while I wait for the interlibrary loans to arrive.

Just reread the Ukiah Oregon quartet by Wen Spencer, now I need another old favorite. There are so many good books, sometimes it is hard to choose which one to do first.

I don't know, I HATE spoilers, even mild ones and even ones that don't come at the end of the story. And there have just been too many times when I read the back of a book, then started reading it, and was like, jeez, I wish they didn't tell me that was going to happen! So I just stopped reading them! I just go for covers that look good to me, and then I give the book a shot!

The mouse is in a little cage by herself for quarantine/pregnancy watch for now. She'll be able to go in one of my mouse cages eventually though!

Okay, I have to ask, there are a number of books called "Circe", which one is it that you got, that saved you from perfume?

What helps me is reading books long enough after I get them. Not on purpose, I've just noticed that after getting a bunch of ebooks at the same. It takes longer to read than to download, so by the time I get to reading them, I don't really remember why I wanted to XD

That's true. I have a horrible memory. So I could read the back and then just wait a little while until I forget lol.

Sanssouci does that mean you never re-read a book, since at that point everything was already spoiled?
