I would limit the "special vote" to the people who own the item at the time of its remake. No need to trace all the way back. I know that it would still be a big pain the ass, but... I just think that you lose a lot of credibility and respect if you give your "customers" (technically donors) an item that was exchanged for IRL currency, then change it up against their will. So I can understand why some people got so angry and even rude and why a lot of them left.

I don't think that much effort is worth it honestly. I can understand why people were upset enough to leave - if old knuffels were remade I would be very upset - but I think the way remakes are handled is fine.

Eh. I think its the right thing to do. It may be difficult, but its almost dishonest to take IRL money from people with the expectation that what they see is what they'll get, then suddenly, its not. It sure discourages me from donating.

Yes... But those items are mostly from 5 years ago when the site was just getting started. Firn said it herself. Current items will stay the same since they match the colourscheme they have implemented (and intend to keep)

So? I don't think that donors or other buyers from five years ago are any less important. I can understand wanting to update things, but I wish she had tried harder to reach out and accommodate the people who actually owned the items. Even if they are a minority, if they're the ones being affected, then they're the ones that should have the most say.
As things stand, I would be hesitant to buy something from someone who might take it back and change things up, ignoring me for people who don't even own the item in the first place.
Iunno. I do feel that there was a lot of trust and respect lost with this decision, and that's why so many people left. They weren't bad people, they just felt cheated, and frankly, I think they had every right to feel cheated.

LOL all this for a bunch of pixel items...XD;; Iunno, seems like a huge fuss over this....*shrug* but that's just me, I don't mind redesigns or whatnot, I can't even remember how they originally looked anyway...xD and even if I did own some of these remakes, I wouldn't have noticed the difference til I actually saw them...xD maybe not even then! XD;; ehhh, I'm part of the "do what needs to be done, I could care less" group...^^;; no offense of course! XD:;

Ionno. It may be just pixels, but some people paid real money for those "just pixels". And for others, the time you put into something makes it very important to you.

Eh I guess I'm just one of those "I'll go with the flow" types, unless I have the motivation to do something, I won't do it...xD;; ahh well, if its gonna be done, its gonna be done...^^;; people will always complain about something they're not satisfied with, what can you do?
Haters will hate, Minions will Minionate.
