It really does fly, baby B is over a month old already too!

I keep remembering things and then realising they happened *LAST* Christmas. Like I was thinking about our wooden advent calendar we have, and that's been in storage since July, so we definitely didn't use it this year

Feels like 2021 passed very quickly.

How is everyone's new year so far? I'm getting my booster jab today, which is good. But also, my assistant was supposed to be here to babysit, and she got Covid on Sunday, so I guess I'm taking B with me, which isn't great

Hoping it goes well and he doesn't start crying/needing a feed or a nappy change right when I'm getting it done. If so, they might have to skip my 15 minute sitting down time afterwards so I can hurry home with him. Thankfully, it's in walking distance.
What else...? I don't have resolutions this year but I made some personal and work goals. I went through them with my assistant too so she can help me work towards them. And we managed to take down the Christmas decorations already. That's about it. I was hoping we'd get more interest on our apartment since Boxing Day is supposed to be a really big day for house enquiries, but we didn't get anything at all so far.

Thanks. I just wish it happened later on, so we could have spent Christmas together. Unfortunately both her and my dad were falling sick for covid right before Christmas and I couldn't visit them. Then he managed to get her into a hospital before the New Year, but with her numerous conditions and no vaccine covid just finished her off. She was in a terrible physical condition and been sick for years, so I guess maybe it's better, no more suffering for her.
I tried to think of the last time I saw her and I remember she was going to bed as I was leaving and I really wanted to hug her goodbye, so I did. That gives me some sort of comfort. With how sick she was I kind of knew that any time I would see her could potentially be the last. I didn't expect covid to get to her though.
Now I'm worried about my dad, not only mentally (he's obviously a mess), but he's not of the best health either and now he's quarantining till 8th. He got a fever today, but he said they'll get him some antibiotics and some kind of stomach shots. I think it might be a steroid or something, but he didn't specify.

I also worry about my dad because he's getting older and sicker.

I've lost all my grandparents too! I guess we all are getting to that kind of age.

I'm glad you were able to give her that one last hug and also that you had in mind already it could be the end soon. It's some small comfort when that happens. At least you know you parted well and that you treasured the time you had left.

I'm worried about everyone TBH D: My assistant just had covid this week. She hasn't got any symptoms other than being a bit more tired than usual, but she's been so careful and responsible all along and it finally got to her. It just shows, it can get to anyone, so the vaccine is so important. I just had my booster, so I've had three jabs now. This one made me feel like crap for a couple of days but it's so much better than having covid and the risk of long covid.
