Oh lol! I mean it's not funny, but it is funny to share the same experiences, if you know what I mean XD
The classic 'you're just fat' too! I think I'm about to start getting that. At my last checkup before pregnancy the nurse looked at my chart and said 'you've put on some weight'. I just stared at her evenly and said, yep. Since I didn't try to explain or argue she had nothing to follow up with, but I could see she really wanted to have a go at me about it lol.
We'd just finished the first year of the pandemic. What did she expect to see, really?

But... What does a bit of a weight gain have to do with anything? XD do doctors weight shame that often? I don't do checkups, I only go to a doctor if I really have no other choice, same with dentists. I'd like to have regular checkups but dang, I don't need rude doctors. I'm HSP and bipolar. I'll either cry or go full on warrior hamster mode

Once you get over a certain weight, they will assume everything is to do with obesity :< I only experienced it a tiny bit but I've heard it a lot from others. Other people I talk to who have chronic illnesses that make it so they can't exercise at all, tell me they get told to lose weight before they can get any help or sometimes even before the diagnosis. It's like, yeah, that's why I'm here dingus, because the problem I have is stopping me from losing weight

I believe I have a lot of nerve damage in my back.
It feels like someone is stabbing me constantly with an ice pick.
I bring it up and they tell me "You're fat - exercise!"
I would like them to try to exercise while I stab them in the back with an ice pick.
I bet they can't do it Bu
Sometimes my lower back goes out and I can't walk. "You're fat just exercise!"
What part of I CAN'T WALK did they not understand xD

Wow, I don't even know what to say to that. It's just reprehensible. I'm sorry that is your experience

Yeah, when my back goes out - the pain is excruciating...
You know how you get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom?
It takes me like 5+ minutes just to get out of bed because I'm in so much pain.
It goes out randomly too. The first time, it went out after I wheeled the trash to the curb and was walking across the yard to go back inside and BAM!
I barely made it inside and it was just my sister home with her headphones on so it wasn't like anyone knew I needed help Bu

Yeah, nothing pleasant ;/ Recently my dad hurt his back (by merely falling asleep with an open window, if that had anything to do with it, maybe he just slept wrong, idk) and I had to go help him get some groceries because he was bended in half and couldn't walk straight...
The forum is so silent ;___;

Oh crap, sorry to hear your dad isn't doing well Mem. I hope he feels better soon.
It really is quiet, especially right after the candy caravan I feel like people lose interest in posting for a little bit. I've been bored the last couple of days and refreshing the site to see if there's any active conversations to join, but it's been pretty dead.
