I always save as .png, but the files are too big, so I try saving the later evolutions as flattened .png's. It worked for my last knuffel (Bluedrop), but this time, it keeps saving them with white backgrounds. I really have no idea why...
EDIT;; I finally figured something out. orz I really hope this works... *sob*

Do you use SIA by any chance? x'D I heard it can be tricky saving with a transparent background in that program...

You actually can't do that in SAI as far as I know. >.<; I draw in SAI and remove the background in Adobe Fireworks... It usually works nicely.
I did eventually figure it out. If ya see Dewdrop come out as a wild Knuffel, we'll know it worked. :3

You know, if you don't use layer attributes (like screen, overlay, etc.) then you can save it as a PSD with SIA and open it with GIMP and just hide the background and save as a png file. I only work in GIMP/ArtWeaver since I'm cheap. >>;

Actually, you can make transparent backgrounds in SAI. :3

lol, they mention the tricky part, getting the right support thingy for it. x'D With GIMP I'm happy that I don't have to do that~ 
Though I don't know about art weaver yet...

But you need a right version of Sai for it. Mine doesn't have this option.

@AnnaBanana (and eventually anyone else); You know what could be a good idea? A checklist! I made one myself after my knuffel got rejected earlier. That could be of use next time I work on a knuffel, to make sure you have everything that's in the rules.

Ah, I'm sorry about that. D: I haven't read this tutorial in awhile, so I hadn't realized that. :/ Well, I guess that's what photoshop (or some other art program) is for...?
I think ML has a really good idea, and that's probably what I'd do. :3
