I gave three to one of the kids and the others took two each. (The ones who took 2 each came earlier in the evening, when I still thought there would be more. The one who got three came later.)

it's cool that people are giving books too. I don't think anyone here knows that stuff other than candy qualifies too

Well, the phrase is "trick or treat" so anything that counts as a treat....

I was thinking about giving out books! I like non-food things for kids with food allergies or other dietary restrictions. I've got plastic frogs for this year, and I just ordered some little pigs that are kind of rubbery like rubber bath duckies.

Back before my uncle retired, when he was doing a lot of travelling, he used to get me rolls of the cheapest denomination of coins in every country he visited.
So for years I'd make up these little satchets with a mix of foreign coins in them and give those out as prizes.
They were really popular, and some of the cheapest things you could possibly do.

Ooooh it is a great idea to give away books! Never even considered this option.
People don't come to my house as it is a students' dorm, so nobody wants to ring the bell here.. :D Better this way.

Just finished another of the Dr. Siri books. (The one that came via loan)

I've been reading them all out of order, and this book filled in some of the gaps. I was wondering how some stuff had happened, and here it was finally explained.

I really want to talk about these books with you guys, but I'm bad at spoilers because I don't care if things are spoiled for me, so my gauge of what might be a spoiler or not is really undeveloped. It leaves me scared to talk about anything.
And it's frustrating!
There's so much about these books that I love, and a few things that really bother me, and you guys are a really good group to talk books with, and it's so tempting to just start talking...
arrgh.
but spoilers....

considering there are millions of books out there and only so much time, it's possible that none of us will ever get to reading any Dr.Siri books :D if I do, I'll probably forget everything by the time :D
