Yeah I have spent all this time collecting multiple colors of multiple commons (heck I own most of Purikura) That would devastate me to have lost my wonderful collection of commons that I spent many years collecting. But even so I image such a thing would mean a lot of code work with positively no positive effect for the overall site.
I do understand that the shops can seem expensive at times, but I don't think the items or inventory need any updating. And besides that's a huge food sink that gets cut off.

I don't come here for just the clothing products and collecting FP for such. I think it is excellent that there is so many different colors for one particular item that I want and I can't just change it automatically. Even if I don't have fp, if I want an item bad enough I find a way to get it. Simple enough. I do wish we had more items to choose from for fp but i understand it takes time and space as well so if the site is having issues on funds then it is obvious as to why it may take a while for something like that. But over all I love how to site is and the people that help make sure it is run smoothly.

I believe that Goshops wasn't concerned about the FP but rather closet order.
Although I like the idea I agree that it certainly wouldn't work well with the current system, unfortunately.

To implement the color change for items wouldn't be that difficult, the coding is already in place, it would require a small change to remove that you have to buy the item, which is why I suggested the small fee, that would require the least amount of change to the backend.
My other request would be to make items stackable, which Altica mentioned--I mentioned it in my hangout, it's a visual thing for me; only showing the color options that you bought. I think this would be especially handy when making a dream avatar in the DAC, instead of seeing the Abby Headribbons 17 times in each color, for example, you'd see it once with clicking on it showing you the colors it came in, like when you'd buy it in Bananarama.
It shouldn't be too hard to implement stackable items since the coding is already implemented in the shops, what might be a challenge is only showing the colors available that have been bought in the users wardrobe, but perhaps even that could be modified to make the other colors linked to the shop so if you wanted a different color that you didn't have, you wouldn't be forced to leave your wardrobe and find it in the shop, you could buy it right there in your wardrobe (or something) but that feature would only be available after you bought at least one color of that item.

I do think that stacking your commons would be a wonderful idea if it could be implemented. But again, commons is supposed to be a food sink and we've only JUST gotten out of a huge inflation problems so... I'm not on board with taking out so much of the food sink.
EDIT: I don't think this is quite item request so here... when you're having colour votes for black in the future, if you're planning on having them, could we have some options with coloured highlights, like violet/yellow? I would love to see some blacks with burgundy or maybe purple highlights instead of the usual grey. Like velvet or something.

oh, yes! a black with purple highlights would be pretty neat to have, methinks. :3

I am not too thrilled about the idea, because giving black for example violet highlights means that the item becomes less matchable with other items.
For example, if you want to put together a black & white avatar, you suddenly end up with an item that used to be black, but then is not only black anymore, but black and purple.
In this case you pretty much cannot make a black & white only avatar with the item in question. You would basically make a one-colored item (of which people previously stated we would not have enough of to begin with) into a two-colored item, a two-colored item into a three-colored item and so on.

Can it be slightly tinted then, like how certain colours have shades that are tinted (blue iris and aqua with purplish shadow), only it would be the highlight colour that's slightly tinted instead? Or how about separating the two colours and having tints for certain items only like you do with violet and yellow?

I can only repeat my previous reply to this.

but if they wanted a black and white avi they could just use a regular black, right? i mean, we already have a violet with the addition of yellow, so why not black with another color?
