That's awful - telling someone they'll never make it :\
Especially when someone is an artist...
My dad always told me to go for what I wanted to but always have a backup plan just in case.
My dad used to draw, my cousins could draw, my grandpa I never met could play guitar and he had his own band and wrote some of his own songs and stuff.
No telling how many family members I've never met were artists too.

It is pretty terrible. But the mentality back then was to have the education for a profession, art in any form was not profession... You could draw or play instruments for a hobby. My mom was stubborn enough to not become an accountant like her parents wanted but instead of a fashion designer she only became a tailor and couldn't go any further due to other circumstances. My dad, aside from a musician, wanted to be a watchmaker but he eventually decided to be a jeweler since it was much more artistic. He used to make amazing pieces. I still have some of them. And wear them of course
I guess jewelry was his backup plan... But that didn't work out either. Also other stuff happened. Like addictions.
I'm glad I'm able to learn from their mistakes.

Slowly is fine! I always think about people who become famous panters a the age of 70 or whatever. So long as you're alive there's time

People still think making art or playing video games isn't a real job.
I dunno, you do what you love and people pay you for doing it.
Sounds like a real job u8
I watch a lot of streamer who play games for a living.
They get told to get a real job or are asked if they have a real job.
Like yeah, they're playing games but they're also funny and entertaining.
I know when I feel depressed and I watch them - they make me feel better.
So what they're doing is a real job and it helps a lot of people >:\
That's something a lot of people don't consider art. A lot of stuff is art. Whether it be drawing, acting, singing, playing instruments, designing clothes, sewing, knitting, making jewelry, making video games - all art.

Yup, if you get paid for doing something, it's a job. If it takes creativity to do something, it's an art. Period.
Ahhh I'm on a rollercoaster at the moment. We found a really nice place on Saturday and decided we wanted to buy it which was awesome. Sunday morning, B decided he only wanted Daddy and would cry if it was me holding him instead o_o Then we went out for lunch with family which was really nice and relaxing. THEN we came home late, I had a lot of work waiting for me, and got super stressed out trying to do it all and ended up not getting enough sleep.
This morning B seems to like me a bit better again after his first nap after not seeing Daddy for a while (he cried when he went to work lol). Then I called the estate agent and FIVE other people already made offers on the house -__- I have put in our offer but who knows if it will be accepted. Then my assistant called to say she'll be late because her mother was in a car crash... she was coming today specifically to babysit because I'm going to an event in London tonight. First time travelling by myself since BEFORE the pandemic. I'm super nervous about it already and now this. Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I flew to Florida and back to Texas by myself when I was like 17...
It was pretty scary :\
I was too short to reach the overhead compartment so this man helped me put my bag up there xD

Welp we didn't get the house. And so I asked the estate agent about the other property we liked, our kind of runner-up choice.... and it had sold that morning. THAT MORNING.
Although, yesterday a property we liked before had come back onto the market. Maybe this is a whole thing and we're going to end up with that one instead. I don't know. I am very tired of all this lol. At least the trip into London went fine - although I set off 20 minutes earlier than I thought I needed to and got there with only 10 minutes to spare, so I was right to be panicking about being late XD
@mem yayyyyy! so cool. So for maybe a short while we might have been in the same city?! although admittedly I was only there for 2 hours in the evening. But imagine
definitely much closer than we have ever been before haha
