Hey there!
We talked a little about it in Kat's hangout :3

This time I won't be able to collect all/a few event items.. As you proposed to take a look in here - here I am!

I'd love to get the ghost mouse in gray white :) If it is manageable for you only, of course!

I just got myself the cat ghost, my first item
*confetti rain* (to continue mem's tradition here xD)

I think your interests are pretty cool (picked the ones that fit for me, too)!
Interests: coffee . Legend of Zelda . monster folk . mythology . reading . research . tea . writing . young adult novels

I have two Zelda posters, a mug and a glass from this game... I love it <3

@Nankuii

At first I thought the concept art was really random for OtGW, but...
Spoiler
...but after I found out the reason why the characters looked a certain way, I became really impressed.
The art style is simple, but it's very well-made. I like how it resembles old cartoons. XD

I can relate to Wirt very well, while my brother is more of a Greg. He's friendly and sociable and goes with his gut. As for me, I tend to get caught up in my own sense of aethetics and worry more.

XD Essentially the Mabel's thing is her sweater and headband, but yeah, that'll be me! Dipper's thing is his hat and vest. Gravity Falls is special to my brother and I because it was a cartoon about siblings, and we decided to watch it together from start to finish and really bonded over it. We even do the awkward sibling pat and make GF jokes. It's kinda nice, in the way that although the siblings are different, they have each other's backs. My bro and I share the sentiment.

OtGW is about siblings, and we watched it together and enjoyed it too, but the humor, tone, and pacing resonated better with us as siblings.

@LittleJulez

More people, woot! Welcome to my cozy little hangout!

Aha, aye, I've popped into Kat's hangout every so often, but aside from my own, I can get pretty inconsistent about checking other hangouts. Sometimes by the time I get around to popping in, several pages have passed, and I get lazy about checking back in other hangouts and just...don't. XD;

Oh sure, I can do that for you! I just sent a cat ghost to Kat earlier today! XD Congrats on getting yours!

Ah, yes, coffee. I drank it twice today (I drink coffee almost every day, except when winter hits, it turns into a craving for tea instead). Aha, I had a bottled Starbucks for work, and a pumpkin spice frappe after. The caffeine from Starbucks doesn't usually affect me, but the sugar from their drinks do! D:

What about you? Do you drink a certain type of coffee? What do you put in it? (When I don't drink Starbucks, I usually end up dumping in a ton of sugar and creamer, or coffee-mate.)

Also, tell me more about what you like in terms of mythology and monster folk! I really love art concepts for the latter, but when I was younger, I often read stories of both (mostly of the Greek myth variety).

It's interesting that you'd also list research among your interests as well! What do you research?

What do you write?

I have a couple LoZ prints and posters, but none on my wall (only have two Nerdfighteria and two Night Vale posters on my wall). I do have a LoZ plush, lunch box, two ocarinas (one is a clay model my brother made for me), a little toy of Link, a backpack, a LoZ DS, and some games. I really enjoy the series.

We did consider it, since his personality is more like the sister and mine is more like the brother. However, the brother's outfit is too large for me (but it fits my bro), and I have a pink sweater I could use, so we just went with that.

Funny thing is, I was telling my bro that I'd make my own sweater to fit hers and he thought I was actually going to make the entire sweater myself. We were both so confused when I just showed him the fabric I bought to make the shooting star. XD

Both are great cartoons, more intended for older kids or teens or older audience. Gravity Falls is hilarious and clever and make a bunch of great relatable references and is a good old mystery-adventure type. Over the Garden Walls has a darker dream-like tone, but tells a great story in only ten episodes. Both are about two siblings, and are both great in different ways. They share fans with Steven Universe (which I also enjoy). They are all fun to watch in their own way, although admittedly, Steven Universe's early episodes are more like a warm-up until things get good.
I will. I'm just trying to get a good pose. 'll probably do a 3/4 pose so it'll show what she looks like without being boring and will show enough to give an idea. I know I want her to have dark brown hair, ember eyes, autumn colored skin and wearing black because she's a sorceress, but not a villain. Oh and she'll have glasses and a scarf like this:Head Scarf But I'm thinking shorter with some decorations. And a sun, moon, and stars kind of bindi design. I haven't worked out the story, but I am thinking about giving her a pooka tag-a-long. Because everything else has been done. lol

lol Oh well, so mix n match personalities with characters. It makes it more lively. lol Well at least you were able to make the the sweater to an extent.

Interesting sounding shows.

I've gotta stop listening to Disney music. Though I'm not a big fan of Frozen. I do like some of the songs and I had Olaf's Summer song in my head when I woke up this morning. 7:30 am is the worst time to have a song running through your head.

I just realized that "take out" means food, dating, and murder. And if you were a female praying mantis you'd have all three.

Oh, sure! What I've seen a lot of artists do to make poses more interesting is to personalize them or put them in action or use body language to communicate the character's personality.

For myself, I usually focus on concept art, so I tend to have them just standing around.

Oh, nice!

Aha, I am more of a structured person than a spontaneous one.

They are. I think you would enjoy them.

Disney does make good songs. XD I personally love the Tarzan soundtrack. My favorite of the Disney stuff, I think.

Aha, to attract ghosts, you have to either have a ghost of your own or just be really resilient in clicking. Fortunately for me (or not) I don't find grinding to be a painful task. XD

I'll go ahead and snag that bunny for you!

---

Also, on another note, my costume was a success! Considering that I haven't touched a needle in over two decades and had to look up tutorials on Google, I deem my Mabel costume a success! Also, most of the people dressed up at the get-together tonight!

We got:

-Mulan
-Witch
-Kiki (from Kiki's Delivery Service)
-Wonder Woman
-Batman
-Dipper (from Gravity Falls)
-Mabel (from Gravity Falls)
-An indigenous dude

We also had a dumpling eating contest, and a spicy noodle challenge, and games. It was all pretty fun.

So glad to be back home, though!

Thank you so much, accepting the trade now <3

And yea, I can totally understand that checking one's own thread is easier than checking on others. I sometimes pop in and realize there are several pages to read; I am too lazy to do that, too xD Especially during the caravan it's insane.

Interesting, I never tried a coffee from Starbucks. Here in Germany we have those shops only in the really big cities. Mine is considered big (130,000 people; geography starts counting cities as "big" beginning with 100,000), but seemingly not big enough for a Starbucks xD But I am totally fine with this. When I was in England I had a zip from a friend and it was too sugary for me. But who knows how I would like the coffee now, 7 years later xD
I drink coffee a few times a week. I had it reduced actually (I went for tea instead xD), but now that uni started I guess I have to crawl back to coffee xD So yea, almost every day.
I love my coffee black. And mid-strong. There are days I really feel the caffeine, while on other days I can sleep like a baby after 3 cups.. So weird.
When I am out somewhere, for a coffee with friends in town, I usually take one coffee and another coffee-like drink, but sweet. Like and Iced coffee or chocolate, or a latte or a cappucchino :)
I hate sugar in my coffee xD I do not mind milk though.

I am not into art at all :qhehe: Or let's say I have not much idea about it. I am interested in it, I know a few conventional artists, but I cannot draw at all, so I am out on this one xD
But I love mythology, indeed. I find Greek and Roman mythology very interesting, but I consider the stories of Native American or Native African Americans very interesting, too. Unfortunately I cannot tell much about mythology either, had no time to really delve deep into this topic (yet)..
I like Percy Jackson very much (the movies, haven't read the books yet, but I own them :D). What is it that you like ? Do you have sth like a favourite god or a favourite aspect about this mythology?

Research is among my interests because of uni mostly, we are doing a lot of research for presentations or home assignments. Therefore I also came to like it. Other than that I haven't done any research on my own which is not connected to uni. i read a few things here and there, but this cannot be considered research :D
What about you? It's very rare sb likes to do research, as far as I've experienced xD

I do not really write either :qhehe: But I would love to. This is my biggest secret passion/dream, to become an author. But again: no time xD God, I use this as an excuse quite often, huh? But I used to write diaries until I moved out, so until I was 19. The past years I've been typing texts into my laptop whenever sth is on my mind or when I need to sort things out...
Apparently I am quite good at writing profound "scientific" papers, my professors say that at least or let's say my grades speak for themselves xD

Oh wow, you have a very nice LoZ collection there!

My pleasure!

Aha, well, if you stick around, I am planning on doing an event the next time CC comes into town. I'll be giving away CC items (of choice) as a reward then. :3

I'm sure you're not missing out with Starbucks. It's just really accessible here.

Oh nice. When people visit here, we usually take them out for pearl/bubble tea since there are many good places in the area. They're a good place for people to hang out too.

Oh, yeah, those old stories are pretty interesting. Most of the time, I read those folklore in children's books, rather than anything detailed, but I enjoy them nonetheless.

I don't know how I got into mythology. I think it may have branched off from my interest in fantasy and mythical creatures. When I was very young, I used to love going to the library and reading stories about mythical creatures; there was even an awesome beastiary that was written about them. (I loved it so much that when I got older, I hunted for a copy even though it was out of print and bought it.)

By the time I was 12, I was reading a ton of Greek myths, as well as ballet interpretations of stories, Arthurian legends, and fantasy-adventure stories.

Another possible source could've also been my uncle, who used to take us to museums. There's a museum here that has a lot of Greek and Roman works. It's my favorite museum.

I'm considering reading Percy Jackson sometime. Seems like an interesting story, though I only know a bit about it.

My favorite Greek god is Pan, because of Donna Jo Napoli's book, "The Great God Pan". It's a well-written story from Pan's perspective, and the character is one you feel connected to when you read it. (Admittedly, I have a soft spot for the underdogs.)

I bear some resentment for Apollos because of it, however.

What about you? Who's your favorite god/goddess?

Most of my interests in research are for story/writing purposes. I like consistency when world-building, and I often pull from legends and lore, or fairy tales, or different cultures. If I write for a character of a different background, I want to represent them well. Learning about different things is fun for me, and I love compiling data for it.

Some of it can seem random. Like when writing a story about a certain community where flowers are important, I would research on the different types of flowers, their meaning, their uses. When I write about a character that is influence by an animal (like a cat-boy for example), I would research on cats and take notes about their habits and body language and traits. If a character has a pet, I would research about pet care for that specific pet. If a character had a specific occupation or was of a certain status, I would attempt to research all the responsibilities, tasks, etiquette, and knowledge required of it. If a character smoke, I'd look into different brands and flavors. On and on, for characters, culture, communities, etc. It's really fun for me.

Aha, well, even if you don't have time to write, it's still good to hear that you do well in it!

Thanks! I am one of those people who enjoy collecting merch of my favorite fandoms.

Oh good to know! I think will be here from time to time ^.^ Thanks for mentioning this!

Yea, if something's accessible one grabs this possibility more often, that's true!

Folklore children books. My, that's also stuff I enjoy.
I was trying to read Russian fairy tales (in Russian), but that's still a little too difficult. And on top of that, those stories always work the same way so that it gets boring and repetitive.

This sounds very nice! It's good that you got that copy even though it was out of print, I bet you would have regretted it otherwise :)

I like those topics as well! I loved watching all those cartoon version stories about Arthur and the like. I really enjoy fantastic literature and fairy tales. And Fantasy. Sometimes also Sci-Fi.
Damn, I should really find more time to read.

Percy Jackson is a book for young adults, I'd say. I like those kind of books. And it features Greek Mythology combined with the present, which is surprisingly well :)

Ouh yes, underdogs are great!
I know Pan only through the allusion of E.M. Forsters "The story of a Panic" which we've read and analysed at uni in my English literature class. I really like this story.

Hm... my favourite God... Choosing from Greek/Roman mythology I think I go for Poseidon/Neptun. But I know not enough about the myriad gods/goddesses to pick one..

I'd probably also go with Apollo, because he is also very multi-sided and also the God of Light. And I love light, brightness and the sun :3

Oh wow, this sounds like you're writing stories a lot and well-thought!
Did you publish anything yet?

I buy stuff only connected to two topics: The Legend of Zelda and most of all Harry Potter :D :D
