My understanding of the whole "kids transitioning" thing is that it's not quite what it sounds like. No one is giving kids like testosterone shots or gender-affirming surgery, what they do is they just give the kid a hormone blocker until they're old enough to make a proper decision. If they end up deciding to transition, it's easier because they haven't gone through the opposite puberty already. If they change their mind and want to stick with their biological sex, then they just stop taking the hormone blocker and have their normal puberty, just a little bit later than usual. Ultimately no irreversible actions are taken until the kid is old enough to decide, they're just getting some extra time to think about things before nature starts doing its thing.

I think it's pretty common to feel a lot younger than you are. It blows my mind that I'm somehow 26. I'm not ready to be 26 LOL.

Tbh I have no idea how transitioning works :mcheh: It just sounds a bit scary. I guess it can be handled well then. Provided that everybody involved are reasonable.

I remember not being ready to be 26. Now I'm not ready to be 30 in two years :mcargh:

I do understand about the blockers etc. Two of my family members are trans :) I understand about it being easier to transition without puberty but I didn't personally accept or embrace being female until AFTER I had gone through puberty. So that's where, for me, it could have done some damage. It's a really confusing time for everyone with so many hormones whizzing around, new expectations, people starting to treat you differently. It's just a lot. And while there are supposed to be safety systems in place with the doctors to stop misuse of the treatment, I've seen enough doctors not to trust that.

I think having a baby made me feel my age XD although sometimes I do still feel baffled that I got trusted with this responsibility hahaha

I definitely prefer being an adult to being a kid. It's not even that my childhood wasn't great, only that the way people patronize and ignore kids is something that bothered me.

I don't mind the number in age. It's just... I'm still 17 XD And better yet, I look 17, or even younger.
