We're going to Australia! Initially, we were planning on going with my cousins living in New Zealand but they decided not to go because of other plans.

You sound like you're really close with your bible study group. That's nice~. I only have a small group of friends so I don't really know how it feels like to go to places in a large pack. Must be pretty rowdy XD. Ahhhhh character pancakes *^* It's so hard to make them. Have fun with the retreat btw!

I like spas too~ It's been way too long since I've last been to one. I just want to soak and sleep (but that would be bad so I won't).

Oh, that sounds awesome!

Oh yeah, most of the people in the group grew up together, but even if they didn't, we go out so often together, we all bond eventually. Some people are more private than others, but mostly, we all try to help each other out and make everyone feel comfortable, whether they're new or old.

I also realized recently that we are a very funny and fun-loving group. It's not that I didn't think we were before, but I think I took it for granted. Recently, a girl came to our group who isn't an English speaker (she speaks Thai, but is slowly learning English). I sorta became her translator (terrible idea, since I only speak 80% Thai), and when I had to listen more carefully to translate, I realized that we often joked around with each other and laughed a lot. I'm really glad for that. Life isn't always easy for us, and often times we're stressed or struggling about something or another, but we can be united in worshiping God, and we can be happy in each other's company.

Aha, my BB group may be big, but more often than not, we usually hang out in smaller bunches. Like on Tuesday, some of us went Karaokeing, and some went to watch Thor. It would be crazy if we traveled in a group of 15 all the time. XD We always have to do crazy ride arrangements when big trips happen (most big trips are to the beach during summer).

Thanks! And character pancakes aren't too bad if you stick to simple designs. Using those ketchup bottles help a lot too!

Oooh, when was the last time you went? The last time I went was last year. XD

That's really nice of you guys~ As an introvert, I know how awkward it feels to be with new people at all. So it's nice that you're trying to make them feel comfortable.

Our group is a lot less outgoing than yours XD Most of our hobbies comprise of reading, watching anime, playing games, and the like so more often than not we're at home doing what we like. On rare occasions, we do the same but with the company of another person LOL. Also, where did you learn Thai? And travelling in smaller groups does make more sense XD.

The last time I went was last year December.

Aha, I think a lot of people in my group are introverts, including myself. We're always challenged to get out of our comfort zone and make an effort and try new things, though, so I think it's helped us a lot.

I naturally like meeting new people (even though I'm shy), so there's that for me. XD It works well online since that shyness doesn't usually affect me here, but IRL it just means they have to catch me on a good day or I'll be stumbling over sentences.

Oh, you guys read together?

Aha, my group watches stuff and plays games together too! We talk about the same anime, shows, and movies we see all the time or sometimes watch them together. And we play video games/computer games, trading card games, and board games together. :3

I'm actually an introvert, and unless I schedule something with someone ahead of time, I love nothing more than staying in front of my comp. XD I'm a potato.

I'm part Thai, pfft. Born in the US, but I would speak to a lot of my relatives (living here) in Thai because it's their native tongue. I speak a mix to my mom and aunt, though.

Wbu? Any second or third language?

Oh, so it's been a while for both of us.

I like meeting new people too! But I find it super draining if I meet a lot of new people in a single day. It also doesn't help that I'm insanely shy. Forums are totally my way of being able to get past that shyness.

By read together do you mean sit in one room and silently read different books? Then yes XD

Filipino is actually my first language lol. English is my second language. Mandarin would be my third. I can't keep straight conversations in Mandarin though because of how fast people talk ~.~ I can understand what they're saying for the most part at least.

Oh, yeah, same. There are days when I can barely summon myself to interact with a familiar face as well.

Oh, nice! Now that's one thing we don't do. We might read the same book separately and discuss, but I don't ever remember just being together and reading. XD

Ohh, nice. Tagalog? I have a Filipino friend, and we bond over how I like Jollibee's. (Well, actually we bond over Steven Universe, but Jollibee's is connected to his Filipino culture. XD)

If I had a third language, it would be Japanese, but I'm no where near functional at that. I can understand a few words (enough to recognize it in a show or song or conversation), but I've forgotten how to form sentences. My vocabulary there is also too limited and I've forgotten the verb tenses. XD

We usually just read 'together' when we want each other's company but don't have much to talk about or when we're in low places in life. It's kind of our way of saying "I'm here for you", I guess.

Ah yes, the infinite love of Filipinos over Jollibee XD It's amazing how Jollibee has managed to make a recipe that embodies the Filipino taste.

I've been trying to learn Japanese too! (Anime please) I've also been reading basic sentences just to get a feel of the language. I'm no where near conversational but I think I'll live if you suddenly toss me in Japan lol.

Oh, I kinda do that with Ocean, but we don't read. We just enjoy each other's company, with both of us being reachable and online, but doing our own thing.

Aha, it's great! Other than that, I don't know much about Filipino culture.

Ooh, nice! You should practice it with me! There used to be a hangout here that would help people learn Japanese, but it's inactive now. D:

The Filipino culture is weird. Kind of like how American culture is, Filipino culture is a mix of different cultures from all over the world. We tend to follow trends too so our 'culture' changes a lot.

I don't mind if you don't mind my noobish Japanese XD

Also, is it against the rules to revive dead threads?

Oh interesting.

As a side note, my brother was in a Filipino club in college. It was funny, because he did look a little Filipino, but he wasn't. XD

I embrace your noobish Japanese!

I don't think it is. I know most sites don't like when you necro threads, but on KofK, I do it a lot. It just makes more sense to me than starting a thread with the same topic. I've done it a couple times in fandom threads and in the Chats forum. Never been called out for it.
