He's quite nocturnal btw.
We had his cage in my son's bedroom, but we had to move him to the living room.
Now we need some furniture to put the cage on...

xD an old tv stand or end table that fits the tank would be good. ovo or a cheap fishtank stand from walmart maybe? that way you can store all the gerbil things ovo

The tank is currently on a crib mattress, and the mattress right on the floor xD
We are planning to buy a piece of furniture, but we'll splurge in one. It's not just something for the cage, it's something for our living room after all - something we plan to keep using for many years, not just as long as we have this pet.

I just did more plant pruning on the water wisteria. -w- this stuff spreads out. found a snail laying eggs on one of the leaves =w= put it (plant and all) in the snail tank.

Just out of curiosity.
How many different types of animals do you currently have DK?

3 cats, 1 betta, 2 plecos, 1 nerite snail, some pond, bladder, and ramshorn snails Oh! and 7-9 amano shrimp (they hide so counting them is hard and even though they breed, their babies can't survive outside of brackish water)

That's a lot of variety!
You really had to learn a lot to take care of them all - I'm impressed.
