I have really severe depression. I'm also bipolar, so depression is extra spicy. I hate to say it but meds, and hobbies or work that I can dive into helps me cope with my mental health. I have to take six pills at night to get to bed. :( I hope you feel better soon.

I've been fighting depression for most of my life at this point... I've found that mindful journaling can be helpful in identifying what you're feeling and why. It sounds kinda lame I know, but just sorting through what you're thinking and feeling can be really beneficial when your emotions are especially turbulent. Honestly though, the best thing I ever did for my depression was to get on medication.

I'm dealing with depression for the first time because my life fell apart in 2021. I don't really have any ways of dealing with it other than just existing through the worst waves of it and trying to catch up on work when I'm functional again.

So, an update on me... I graduated from therapy earlier this year, and I've gone down a step in one of my antidepressants this year, too. Even with everything that's happened with Dad, I'm doing better than I was the last time I posted here.

I still think therapy/counseling is a great tool for dealing with depression, as is having a good support network. Also getting out of the house every once in awhile (I go to peer support group most weeks, unless I'm feeling like crap or it's a holiday). I also am, as ever, working on at least three different creative projects at once. Arts and crafts are a good way to express one's feelings, or at least provide a distraction for a bit.

I especially support therapy for people who have been mistreated. Having a good person in your life can help rebuild really deep trust issues.

I'm glad you're making progress. :qh:

I usually watch television, listen to music, when I am depressed. I see a psychologist, go out to shopping or meal or movie and etc outings with family and friends :)

Usually try to distract myself.
Watch a new show, play a video game or go for a drive or walk.
