Have you ever even seen any of those? They're black and feathered, and have the same facial expression. That's it!
There's the size. Jackdaws being tiny, crows being large and ravens being. Mothercrapping gigantic.
With the sizes of the birds themselves, the bills change in proportion. Once again, the jackdaw having the tiniest bill, a raven having a gigantic one larger than his head. xD
Think you can keep a raven as a pet? Think again. A jackdaw is a fun pet, but a destroyer, and crapping over the whole house. Think of what a raven could do.
And there's the food. I can feed Sully cat kibble. Besides that I feed him some fresh fruits and veggies, and he catches the occasional bug himself. In the wild they eat mostly trash and bugs. Crows eat, well, just about anything. They also catch prey. The occasional mouse or something, and smaller birds, even magpies, sadly. But also they mostly feed on trash. Ravens really need meat. If you keep them as pets (not in your living room xD) you need to feed them chicks and stuff. Not a nice sight.
Also the bigger the bird, the scruffier they get. Personally I prefer looking at a jackdaw then, they keep their feathers nice and tidy. I think that's also because jackdaws aren't aggressive, they don't fight eachother, while crows and ravens do.
And last but not least? The jackdaw's beautiful grey hood. ;D
No other corvid has it.

I wonder how you afford to feed all your bird O_O
Are you planning to make a Jackdaws knuffel? What bird is Waldo? I thought it was a chicken but I am not sure.

You know I just own a jackdaw and a canary right?
The canary barely eats anything, just seeds that cost nothing in the store, a some red factor feed and an occasional piece of apple. And I haven't had to buy him new stuff ever since I had him. And I think I am actually overfeeding him. xD
And like I said, Sully mainly eats cat kibble. That's not expensive at all either.
Yeah, Waldo is a chicken chick. ;D

You sound like jackdaws would be awesome and crows and ravens would be very horrible. This is not nice. More love for crows please

What? Where? Where?? Where did I say crows and ravens are horrible? 
My personal favorite corvids are magpies and jackdaws of course, but that doesn't mean the others suck.
The only thing I meant to say is that they'd make horrible pets is all. You can't deny that. 
Sully is already a monster, I wouldn't want a raven in my bedroom!
And still, it depends on what you consider bad. Fact is still that crows and ravens do eat other birds while jackdaws don't. At least they don't kill. Personally I don't think that's a bad thing, I think that's merely nature. ^_^
If you can't stand those ways of nature, the pure fact that animals need to eat and some are made to eat other animals, than so be it, and you'd indeed probably consider ravens a bad kind of bird compared to a jackdaw. But I am in no way insinuating that they are. <3
Would it help if I told you that magpies do also need a lot of protein in their diet and indeed eat small birds, and even raid other nests for it? They can be real nasty bitches as well. Still I consider them the most amazing birds ever created by Nature <3 ____________________

Maybe I am losing my mind but I saw you post that you have a magpie. Maybe it was a post saying you want a magpie and not own one.
I was thinking 3 bird can get expensive.
Cool, now beside magpie we got chicken. More bird for the site. Someone told me they would do a crane so I can add that to my list of bird. =D

Nah as for food neither of them have an expensive taste.
I did own a magpie for three weeks, but sadly he didn't make it. I got attached to him too much though and I just couldn't stand missing a bird like that around me. Legal magpies however are impossible to find, but the fact that Wallace was illegal really bothered me, so I really needed one with a ring. Then I stumbled across Sully's nest and decided to take this chance since jackdaws aren't that common either. And they were supposed to be pretty similar in behavior. :p
So I really own just a canary and a jackdaw.
I've got a shitload of other birds still on my list. :D
More exotic ones, too.

If you can supply me with good references I might think about it. I have no idea what it's supposed to look like and I only get pictures of that band on google ^_^;;
