Digging went alright, got a few pastries, that was great :) But no digging items and not many food points. Still, many level ups :)

I had compulsory art classes until the 10th grade, then we had the choice between music and art. But the music teacher was a very sensitive kind of guy, often ill, just playing bongos and clapped with the students all the time so I ended up taking art classes even though I love music. Don't regret it. So art class for another 2 years.

What was the thing you are best pleased to have learned from art class?

I think the best thing about art class was that we got insights into various different art trends and art movements so that I can tell "oh, that artist is actually an expressionist and that is one of his paintings. You can see that if you look at the style which is..." - I like that part. That it broadend my knowledge :)

I also loved architecture and drawing different perspectives, designing houses/rooms to a specific theme.. Yea that was nice.
Apparently my teacher thought I wasn't that good at it though.

What abou you?

I didn't have any art classes after, I think year 6. I don't remember much about them at this point, they were so long ago.

Oh did you have something else instead Akili? Was it that you had to chose between art & another subject? Or is it normal that you just stop having art classes after year 6?

yes, it was when there were choices of classes, and I was taking sign language courses. You could take music or art or a language or a couple of other choices. Workshop, driving education, basic psychology... those are the only ones I remember. But driving ed and basic psychology were both one-year-only classes. You'd take them, and if you took them once you couldn't take them again. The others you could take for however many years you wanted.

This sounds super interesting!!!
Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?
But isn't it a bit difficult to get a teacher for every course? And what happend if only 3 people chose a course? Did they have to choose something else then?

Oh, we traveled in to the big city for school! So there were a lot of students, enough to fill the classes. The sign language course was offered because there was a deaf student, so the school had hired two translators who each worked part time. One of them had a teaching certificate and the student convinced the school board to hire her to teach sign language. It was very popular! A lot of us tried to sign up, so they later expanded it.
I am sure if ever there was a time when only 3 people chose a course, they would cancel the course and those students would have to choose something else. I don't know if it ever happened, but I am sure that is what would happen. There would not be funding for anything else, even in the city!

I do know that most teachers taught multiple courses. The art teacher was also the music teacher, for instance, and the driving course teacher was also the physics teacher, and the basic psychology teacher was also the World History teacher.

And each student could only choose one optional course, but the time of day that the course was offered is set, so for instance the art courses were all in the morning and the music was all in the afternoon, so that helped too. One of my siblings too music, and really liked it.

my art teacher for year 10 was also my ICT teacher.

That was hilarious when he saw me in the ICT class just after art..
