With AI, and tech in general, i’m concerned about its biases and the populations that are left behind. For example, digital assistants like Siri and Alexa are only helpful if you can speak and hear. Especially with Apple, there’s the problem of devices being cost prohibitive. (Ugh, the $1000+ phone)

Ooh, good luck! That sounds very cool.

Can’t, unfortunately. I have very little by the way of fine motor skills. I might lose the function of both my hands someday, and it is terrifying. I cried in college when my right started going.

Had my nieces yesterday. They wore use out and they wore themselves out. lol
Alice wanted to spend the night and we were like "NO!!" only we said it much nicer.

Oh! This is cute: so my nieces are upstairs with my Joslyn and they're playing. Alice (oldest niece) comes downstairs.

Alice: Auntie, I think Addy pooped in her diaper.
Me: Okay. Call her down and I'll check.
Alice: *goes to the stairs* Addy come downstairs! We think you pooped in your diaper!

XD Kids. Alice is 5. Addy is 2 and has yet to coordinate using the toilet even though she wants too because her sister and cousin do.

Audriella, I see what you mean about people potentially being left behind, but on the other hand, there's also the potential to create much better support software for people with disabilities like that. Like for example the no hearing example, with machine learning it might very well be possible to create a tool that records audio and transcribes it to text in a much more accurate way than any kind of auto-subtitling that we have today. So like with any advancement in technology, there's risks, but also great opportunities coming with it.
And I think we'll always continue to have devices on the lower end of the price range as well - yes, they might lag behind in their features a bit, but usually it's not essential for anyone to have everything as soon as it's possible. We're all living without it before it first appears on the expensive ones after all ;)

I'm very sorry to hear about your condition with your hands. I didn't realize that it was such a bad and still progressing thing, I hope I didn't say anything insensitive or rub a sore spot there.

DC, I always love your stories of your daughter and your nieces :) They always make me smile :)

I'm glad. They're trips. I don't need drugs, I get high off of my daughter and nieces because they're so contagious. I want to cyfin their energy and use some.

Oh and Joslyn is getting crafty. When she asks for something and I say no, she'll reply with "You can't resist these sparkling eyes and smile." I have to keep with my decision, but boy is it hard.
