Well, now I'm tempted to leave the computer and go make popcorn to try it out! But what if the event ends while I'm gone?

Aw, thank you, Julez
Pumpkin soup, YUM!

What kind are you going to make? Speaking of great cooking ideas, that's a good one. I can practically smell it already.

You're very welcome <3
I am just going to stir-fry onions, add vegetable broil and cook pumpkin pieces in it until they are soft enough to blend it. I want to add sour cream at the end, to make it a little more creamy. Also add spices like nutmeg :)
How would you do it?

It would really depend on what kind of soup I was making!
I've had pumpkin soup that was cooked pumpkin pieces with just enough water added to blend smooth, mixed 3:1 with cashews blended up, and then you add hot sauce to taste.
I've had pumpkin soup that was cooked pumpkin, carrot, onion, and yams all chopped and steamed or baked until cooked and then blended smooth, and then chilled and add cubes of sharp cheese.
I've had that same pumpkin soup base but not chilled and instead added whole steamed mushrooms (LOTS of them) and sprinkled terragon on top.
I've had pumpkin soup that was regular vegetable broth base thickened with pureed pumpkin and then added curry seasonings, topped with roasted pumpkin chunks, roasted pumpkin seeds, and dried black currants.
I've had pumpkin soup that was pretty much just barely-thinned pumpkin puree and then stirred in chopped sundried tomatoes and caramelized whole pearl onions.
I've had pumpkin soup which was 1:1 pumpkin and carrots, cooked and pureed, and then added ginger, black pepper, cardamon, coriander, and turmeric spices, and served with lots of croutons.
I've had "pumpkin soup" which was actually just a really thick, hearty white-bean-and-cauliflower soup "cooked" by baking it in a hollowed pumpkin shell.
I don't know, I'm sure there's more!
So it would depend on what kind I was making.

Wow, that's a lot of different pumpkin soup ideas!
Now I kinda want a pumpkin soup as well... I'll have to see about where and when to eat that. Can't really make any, since my bf hates it with a passion, so I'd have to make it just for me and then I'd probably end up with way too much...

I know so many guys who hate pumpkin soup! Amazing :D
Wow, Akili, thanks for all the great ideas! I added a little coconut milk to my previous recipe, tastes nice as well :)
