hiiii
lemme br-br-break it down for you :mccool:

fanfiction fest: fanfiction festival. it can work like people submit prompts, writers choose prompts and submit stories based on those anonymously, and then there are reveals: like the writers' ao3 usernames so people know who wrote which fic.
or it can work like an exchange: to submit your prompt, you have to write someone else's prompt.
ocs: original characters (which i'm sure you know, but anyway.)
rpf: real person fanfiction. fanfics about celebs instead of fictional characters yknow
bandfic: the fandom is a band. in my case, the kpop group EXO
au: alternate universe. so i'm taking these boys and writing them into a different fictional universe where they're not band members. and maybe not that similar to their real life personalities either.

anyway. :mcheh:
how are you?

Oh thanks for breaking it down for me! :)
What does original character mean? I've read it lots of times, but couldn't make something out of it :o

I am good, trying to find my way into my everyday life again with work, exercise, a little studying and friends. :) How are you?

DC, not for me, really. Working, meeting friends, trying to ameliorate my French. Yea. The usual.

Nan, thanks, now I finally get the OC part xD Has bugged me for years :D
Haha, yea, just a little studying :P

kylian, well, not really at the same time. This year I've been working/going to work August-October. This is summer break in college anyway, so these two things don't overlap :)
Oh I am doing lots of different exercises, recently joined the gym, but I did exercises at home before. I love running, but also doing stuff for legs, shoulders etc. Also started doing courses like Zumba :)

@candy: i'm continuing an rp with tinker bell that has been long and unwillingly under hiatus. and i'm starting one with eruvandir. i'm excited!

@julez: that's really nice :mchappy: i'll be taking a break year after college and i intend to do something like that. intern at a publishing house, get a yoga instructor's license, and a certificate in korean. also prepare for my master's degree entrances. it's like i've been studying my whole life and i am determined to take a some time away to experience work, to treat my body better, do other things i'm interested in :mccute:

i wanted to intern during a summer break, like you. but it didn't work out. in my first year we had field work during summer break, for one of our courses. in my second year i applied for honours and i was supposed to work towards my thesis during summer break so yeah... that went by in studying as usual :mcsweat: and now i'm in my final year so anything i want to do will have to be after i graduate!

You have nice plans there!
I want to do an internship at a publishing house, too!
What are you studying?
Yoga is not my thing, but I wish you luck with that, too :)
Sounds like you and I have much in common though.

What I am doing is not an internship though, it's just seasonal work. It is great though. Although the weekend was hell. I am so exhausted, but two more days to go..

i'm studying humanities! and i'll apply for a masters in literary and cultural studies, eventually!
yay :mcglee: i'm a much better reader than a writer so i'm not very enthusiastic about going into academia or teaching. i'd much rather work with stories, or large tracts of text in general- as long as they're not science related. still not over the trauma of high school :mcsweat:
what kind of work do you want to do in publishing? i want editing or acquisitions; something with a focus on reading :qsml:
yup, it does seem like we have quite a bit in common :mccute:
ooh, what does seasonal work entail? it's great that you're enjoying it, even if it's tiring at times!

Oh so cool! :)
I am rather the writer than the reader, although I also like reading a lot. And I love science and doing research (but not the reading part about it xD) So we are actually interested in the opposite aspects of humanities. :D
I studied cultural studies and English for my undergraduate and my master's is linguistics, I am still doing it :)

My seasonal work is giving guided tours in a palace in the city I live in :) Super nice, but super exhausting, we have to stand all day basically, talk all day, deal with stupid questions..
