Well, the lamps stack, so the more you put on one knuff, the faster you will max it. I'm fine with about a week or so of waiting, with my 3 lamps. So if you don't mind that time either, I'd put 4 lamps for two knuffels. If you really want things fast, then you should probably put them all in one knuffel's room.
