Oh dear, I hadn't noticed the old URL would only redirect for a while, guess I gotta get used to this now as well then, and quickly!
Good thing I just use bookmarks everywhere, lol

I used bookmarks a lot but kinda stopped now that the browsers are nice enough to remember the adresses I uses a lot.

Yeah browsers remembering pages makes bookmarks not so important
I'll still use them tho, just not for frequent traffic sites

I do the same. Or for things I want to use for reference in the future. Like important stuff I don't use everyday.

It doesn't really help that in the mobile versions the bookmarks are body slammed into one section

Huh, I was really confused about what you all were going on about because I read the announcement and it had nothing about a new URL. I looked back and I guess Starkad just edited the announcement instead of making a new one. I would have missed it if it hadn't been talked about here.
Doesn't seem to make much sense, business-wise. A shorter URL is easier to remember and thus normally means you end up with more return traffic.

Oh, that's too bad the old address will work only for few months. I guess I'll have to update my bookmarks after all.
It'll get me a while to get used to the new address though. The old one was really short and it was used for so many years...

I wonder what caused the change, .de no longer getting support?

Well, when you see a website ending with .de, your first thought is "oh, it's German website" and then what may follow is "oh, I don't know German... Not interested".
I remember I was a bit intimidated when I've learned of Kofk existance and saw that a website is ending with .de. I did end up checking it eventually and then learned quickly that the whole site is generally in English, but first I had to check it by myself. I can easily imagine some people stopping before that. So I guess it's a good change. Though all of us have to get used to it first.

I actually use bookmarks a lot, as I have a folder for things I visit daily. And I don't use my phone as a browser much so bookmarks are useful on my computer, otherwise I wouldn't use them much since they ARE jammed together on mobile, lol.
And I was also intimidated at first by the ending .de, so this might be a change for the better for them?
