Hahaha, that does sound like a good story!

Yeah, it's mostly when life becomes generally stressful at times I don't have much energy to chat, so I just lurk for a while. I'm usually not gone completely though, and if you called out to me specifically in a pm or one of the threads I regularly visit, chances are high I'd see it and answer. I don't always manage to keep up reading all of the threads though.

Ah, yes, that makes sense.
hmmm, I hear someone at the door. Hang on, I loved talking with you but I need to take care of this. Hopefully we can chat again later!

edit: Nevermind, false alarm. Someone wanting to sell something.

Ah, that can be annoying if it just pulls you out of what you're doing because you thought it was going to be something important.

Yes, we don't tend to get many random knocks on the door, out here. Usually it's someone who knows exactly whose house it is and wants to talk to one of us.

If I'm not expecting anyone I don't answer the door lol

Mmm, I live in pessimistic expectation that it'll be the authorities come to inform me of someone's death. Sheer cynical belief that it's bad news will always get me to answer it.

It could also be a door to door serial killer

.... okay that is not something I'd have considered. I tend to think of them as more either opportunistic or stalker-y.

Remember that story about the serial killer who dressed up like Santa to make his victims open the door for him?
Nasty sort of thought.

ha ha, yeah, I don't normally read books like that so I'm still not sure what prompted that one. >.< I guess every once in a while I have to remind myself why I don't read them...

although I do love a good cozy mystery!
