I'm really not sure how to describe it.
Though if you try it yourself watch the pot like a hawk because milk is a tricky boiler. It starts boiling with no warning bubbles and then will boil over super quickly if you don't watch it.
How do you do your oatmeal? Stove or microwave?

yenno what I'm going to google the differences between oatmeal and porridge.
Riight..
https://www.mnn.com/food/recipes/blogs/ ... d-porridge so.. I found this
Oatmeal is a type of porridge, and the two terms are often used interchangeably, but not all porridge is made from oats. A porridge is a hot cereal that can be made from a variety of grains, vegetables or even some legumes. (Remember the nursery rhyme "Peas porridge hot?"). It's most commonly boiled in water or milk until it's a mushy substance.
So mine's porridge but not proper porridge cause I just pour boiling water, not boil it in water... and I add milk. Sometimes I add berries like raspberries or black berries.

Ah. Good to know. So oatmeal is porridge but not all porridge is oatmeal. I get it.
Well I make the oatmeal then put the brown sugar on top to sweeten it. I like my oats a little sweet. Might be a southern thing.
Uh. Quaker Oats? But honestly I usually just get store brand. So much cheaper and tastes the same. I do that for most cereal type things.
But they're usually 1 minute oats because I use that type to make no bake cookies as well.

It's the only kind that I've ever been into. lol.
Husband gets the rolled oats and lets them soak overnight and then eats them cold the next day.
I only eat mine hot. As I said, I am a prissy miss about me oats.
