I prefer savoury tamago rolls myself. dashi-tamago.
What do you mean, make from scratch? miso is a paste. The instant ones might be powder.
And yes, sushi is an expensive, special meal in Japan. It's not too expensive to make big rolls at home (with things like egg and cucumber in), but if you have fish sushi out, it's very expensive. A real delicacy. It certainly isn't the Japanese equivalent of sandwiches the way they seem to treat it in the west.

Hello guys!
@Zesurin @Jessicat @Mrow
Actually, I haven't tried a Wasabi Ice Cream yet. But most of my friends told me that it's good. The combination of tangy and sweet flavors is like heaven and hell lols
I love our topic about Japanese food here. I'm suddenly craving for Tempura and Udon Noodles XD
------------
Belated Happy Mother's Day to your moms, guys!

Zesurin - :o What's tamago? -frantically scribbles down all this new stuff to try-
Jessicat - I wasn't aware sushi was considered a luxury in Japan. Here in Australia, sushi has always seemed ridiculously expensive (although we all eat it anyways because yummy) and I thought it was because they were exploiting ignorant Australians into spending more money than they need to. ^^;
On that note, is ramen considered budget food in Japan? Here it's quite reasonable but I wouldn't call it cheap (about $15 for a bowl).
Fielkun - Udon noodles are the best. @_____@; -suddenly craves as well-
Happy Mother's Day to your mother as well~!

Tamago just means egg. She's talking about the sweet egg sushi :)
And yeah... sushi is meant to be expensive.
Ramen is... Yeah, not an expensive dish. Certainly not like sushi. You can get very budget ramen, to normal dinner kind of price. There are cheaper dishes like soba... and udon. I love udon.
Now I want udon.
Happy mother's day :)

Argh! Udon, Soba, Ramen - they're all good!
@Jess
What do you call this cold noodles from Japan? Is it another type of Soba?(I forgot what its called) My father used to prepare that for us every time he comes home from his yearly 3 months work contract in Japan.
I also love munching on those "Nori" (dried seaweed) thing lol

Argh, I really need to have a cold soba now.
Seems like our rainy season might be delayed for several weeks.
The weather was still toasty as ever!
How's everyone?
Hope you are all well :)

Hello
Jess, its alright ^^ We all have some personal stuff that we need to prioritize. I was just curious though, what's your PhD work all about?

It's only 8:45 AM but our current temperature is already at 30 degrees celsius

I shouldn't have taken a coffee this morning. It made me all sweaty as early as now >_<

Wow, hot! I don't mind heat.... But one doesn't get it much in England, and Japanese humid heat isn't... pleasant heat.
My PhD is on Shakespeare and philosophy :)
